Work setting: Mostly remote with occasional visits to the office

Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Part-time (21 hours per week over 3 days)

Location: London

Are you a Finance Director with solid experience within the charity sector? Do you hold strong knowledge of strategic financial planning including budget cashflow preparation? Are you a qualified chartered accountant or management accountant (FCA, ACCA, CIMA)?

TPP are recruiting a Finance Director on behalf of our client, a well-established National Charity.

The Role:

As the Finance Director, you will oversee the client's financial strategy and ensure full compliance with legal, financial, and governance standards. In this role, you will report to the Chief Executive and provide strategic financial oversight, ensuring the charity operates within agreed financial parameters. You will also act as Company Secretary, managing legal compliance and governance responsibilities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage relationships with key financial partners and oversee payroll, audits, and financial systems.
  • Act as Company Secretary, ensuring legal compliance with charity and company law.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Lead and develop the Finance Team, promoting diversity, inclusion, and well-being.

Essential requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Finance Director within the Charity Sector.
  • Chartered accountant qualification (FCA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of charity finance regulations, including SORP and Charity Act compliance.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with a collaborative approach.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic mindset.
