Official Job Title: Early Literacy Interventionist
Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you keen to work with children to support and develop their phonics and reading skills?
40% of children from disadvantaged backgrounds leave primary school in England each year unable to read to the expected standard. Chapter One is a fast-growing charity, with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills they need to thrive. We work to ensure that all children have 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most.
Our Early Literacy Intervention (ELI) programme (based on a model that serves 20,000 children successfully in the USA) provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Literacy Interventionist works individually with target children.
We are seeking a part-time Early Literacy Interventionist (ELI), based at Galleywall Primary School in Southwark, South London. This ELI role, reporting to the Schools Development Manager, is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop and grow their knowledge of phonics and/or their teaching skill set. It is ideal for someone with previous school experience who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.
For your caseload of target children, you will conduct an initial baseline assessment and then deliver differentiated, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach. Although you are employed by Chapter One, you will work closely with the school team to understand the progression of the school’s phonics teaching; establish tailored plans for each child and feedback on pupil progress. Using your knowledge and insight, you will also collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

Herts Young Homeless (hyh) are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic youth engagement worker to join our charity. hyh's strategic aim is to 'Be More Youth Led' and this role is crucial in supporting that commitment. What can you bring to the team?

- Co-facilitate annual ‘Youth Summits’; consulting young people from across the county on issues related to the charity/youth homelessness.
- Launch and facilitate a youth advisory board (online and in person). Act as an advocate to deliver key youth board messages to our leadership team and board.
- Co-ordinate work experience and apprenticeship opportunities for young people.
- Organise and co-facilitate social events for our young people.
- Support our young housemates in completing ASDAN qualifications.
- Support the content of our digital communication to young people.
- Complete relevant data to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth engagement work.
- Ensure youth engagement and coproduction is considered at all levels of the organisation to ensure decision making is youth informed where appropriate.
- Develop new an innovative ways of involving hyh services users in shaping our services and coproducing our work.
- Ensure good ‘youth voice’ communication across all hyh services, providing updates at service team meetings.
- Co-ordinate young people’s involvement in staff recruitment, training and induction
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with external organisations and professionals.

About the role:
As a Recruitment/HR Administrator, you will be joining a small dedicated Recruitment team providing an effective and efficient recruitment service to meet the organisation’s resourcing and staffing needs. You will be the first point of contact for internal and external enquiries and requests to the team; providing a high level of customer service throughout the recruitment cycle.

THE ROLE
The Tree Equity Officer will lead on our vision that by 2030 we would like to see the added protection of existing trees and en route to 1 million more trees established in Scotland’s urban areas that currently have a low Tree Equity Score (TES). They will be responsible for establishing and developing partnerships with others to deliver exemplar projects across Scotland that demonstrate and communicate benefits of improving TES. The Tree Equity Officer will Advocate to embed use of TES in Local Area Plans/LA strategy of city authorities and encourage city authorities to raise funding for improving TES in their cities.
As part of the Scotland Team, they will be responsible for working together collaboratively with other colleagues across the Trust to develop and oversee the delivery of a Tree Equity strategy. They will work with policy and advocacy colleagues to influence local and national government and others to embed Tree Equity as a tool to inform and direct urban forestry and green space delivery and preferably embed within policy.
This is a Hybrid working role, where you’ll work part of your time at home and part of the time from one of our Regional Offices based in Edinburgh, Scotland. Our Hybrid Working Policy is flexible, and the frequency of time spent in your contracted office will vary across teams and job roles.
THE CANDIDATE
You will have excellent knowledge, experience and passion for urban forestry and/or urban green infrastructure. Based in Scotland you will be responsible for maintaining our relationships with the main aplastic anaemia specialist treatment centres in Scotland as well as supporting our Scottish community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing team within The Aplastic Anaemia Trust (AAT). Our team is small, but mighty. Our current Support & Outreach (S&O) team is managed by our S&O Programme Manager and comprises two part-time S&O coordinators who have lived experience of aplastic anaemia. Lived experience is hugely important to us but is not an essential criterion for this role.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity is for a permanent contract, starting immediately, with a six-month probation period. You will work 14 hours a week during core working hours, your working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit you although we will require you to attend staff meetings which take place on Thursday mornings.

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only UK charity providing information, advice and support to people affected by rare disease Aplastic Anaemia. This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced professional to lead, develop and champion this critical area of our work.
The successful candidate will be up to date on the UK legislative framework, Charity Commission requirements and a good understanding of regional and global standards on safeguarding. The successful candidate will play a strategic role on behalf of Tearfund in developing sector wide best practice. They will have a key role in supporting the development of safeguarding best practice across our programme work as well as each aspect of Tearfund's work globally.
An important part of their role will be to promote good practice and lead and commission training with Tearfund staff and delivery partners to develop our knowledge and practice. They will play a central role in case management, pastoral care advice, investigations, compliance and reporting to the Executive Team, Board, and relevant authorities and agencies.
You will have:
- Recent and significant experience of safeguarding in a multi-disciplinary context
- Experience of working alongside the Christian faith community in the application of safeguarding best practice
- In-depth knowledge of the UK statutory legislative framework for safeguarding children and adults at risk as well as Charity Commission guidance
- Good understanding of regional and global standards on safeguarding and versatility in managing complex safeguarding incidents across programme implementation countries
- Significant experience of developing and implementing safeguarding policies and protocols to strengthen strong safeguarding practices in a global context
- Strong written and verbal skills across culture and all levels of the organisation

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated evaluation manager to lead and develop a programme of evaluations. Working closely with the evaluation senior officer and colleagues across the organisation, this role is responsible for ensuring we have robust evaluation methods that produce high quality impact evidence to inform improvement plans for our charitable activities and future strategic direction. Climb are an Prevention and Early Intervention Service for 10-17 year old's who may vulnerable to criminal exploitation and/or at risk of entering the criminal justice system. We offer 1-1 outreach support and access to positive diversionary activities in their local areas.
This is an exciting role within an established and expanding service across West Mercia. There are a number of varied, practitioner roles that are set to increase. We are currently looking for a Exploitation Practitioner to join our dynamic, ambitious team.
This role will support young people at risk of criminal exploitation or entering the criminal justice system; at an early intervention level. This will be through 1-1, direct work and support in accessing positive diversionary activities, therefore reducing the risk. It will also require excellent mutli-agency work.
This role is for people with a passion in supporting vulnerable young people on a 1-1 basis, in raising their aspirations, building their confidence, working together with professionals to ensure the most appropriate, robust and holistic support is offered to meet each individual's needs. A key part of this role will be your ability to positively impact the lives of Children and Young people.
You will need to be able to engage with professional colleagues also, have presentation skills, and be able to bring people together around mutual goals.
Although the contracts are home based, there will be a lot of daily travel across Telford or Shropshire area. Although there is no specific office base, you will be part of a geographically based team and will be well supported by the management team and all of your colleagues.
