Join Together Active as a Development Officer - Lived Experience and help transform lives through physical activity. This role is ideal for someone passionate about advocating for underrepresented communities and ensuring their voices are heard.

This role will put people and communities that face the biggest challenges in accessing physical activity firmly at the heart of our work. You will listen and learn from these communities and work creatively to co-produce new programmes of work. You will help ensure that people can lead more active lives in ways that they choose by making sure lived experience not just informs but is woven into the fabric of all we do.

To do this role you will constantly challenge people’s perceptions and wholly reject the notion that some people are ‘hard to reach’. Your empathetic and relatable approach will build trust and connections with people who feel excluded and you will share insight and experiences with everyone in the team will ensure our work is connected, equitable and inclusive.

This role is ideal for a compassionate and driven individual with a deep commitment to social equity and community empowerment. The right candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build trust with diverse populations, and the ability to think creatively.

How We Value You

 

  • Generous annual leave allowance: 27.5 days upon commencement of employment plus bank holidays. This rises by an additional 1 day of leave per year after 2 years of continuous employment, up to an additional 5 days leave in total. (Pro rata for part time staff)
