About Us:
Whiteley Village is a charitable trust that has been providing a unique retirement community for over a century. Set in 225 acres of beautiful grounds in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, our village offers a unique and enriching place to live and work.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Community Services to lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of community-based programs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for empowering individuals, fostering community engagement, and improving access to vital resources. As a leader, you will work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders, and the community to drive initiatives that enhance the well-being and quality of life for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the community services team, ensuring alignment with trust’s goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote community engagement and participation.
  • Oversee the design and execution of programs that address the needs of diverse community members.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and service providers.
  • Monitor and evaluate program performance, ensuring goals are met and outcomes are impactful.
  • Advocate for community needs within the organization and work to secure necessary resources and funding.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, respect, and continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community services, program management, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant community development practices and policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, public administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and secure funding.
