Job description

We’re on the lookout for a new Education Team Coordinator!

We are on a mission to grow our impact and reach more children with our exciting learning programme. We have an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking for a hands-on role making the day to day sessions happen. 
 
The Education Team Coordinators facilitate the smooth running of all activities around the programme and support the Young Pirates positive journey from onboarding to graduation.  
 
We think our Education Team Coordinator will be: 
A pro-active team player. The Education Coordinators work together on our busy programme to ensure Young Pirates, families and schools have everything they need to make the most of their time with us. 
 
Organised and tech literate. You will learn to use our database and different systems and processes to ensure important areas such as attendance are accurately tracked and monitored. 
 
Warm, welcoming and comfortable communicating with a range of people. You will take particular responsibility for our Hackney Young Pirates and their space, ensuring everyone feels welcome and that the learning spaces are tidy, safe and ready for learning.

The Education Team Coordinators co-ordinate supporting activities on the programme. This includes engaging and onboarding schools and families, coordinating published projects and overview of admin activities.  
 
Responsibilities

All Education Team Coordinators
 
Engaging Young Pirates and their families to support excellent attendance in sessions: 

  • Warm and friendly communications to families; 
  • Onboarding of families and Young Pirates; 
  • Monitoring and following up on session attendance; 
  • Collecting evaluation data. 

Supporting published projects: 

  • Collecting and collating work from the Young Pirates; 
  • Proof-reading and editing work. 

 Other activities to support the smooth running of the programme: 

  • Working with the Education Team to set up resources and activities for session; 
  • Covering session; 
  • Training new Session Leaders in processes; 
  • Providing additional support across families, schools, programme co-ordination or creative projects; 
  • Uphold the safeguarding policy. 

Specific Education Team Coordinator responsibilities

The two specific areas of focus for this coordinator are:  

 Hackney Young Pirates: 

  • Monitoring attendance, engagement and behaviour across sessions; 
  • Provide support and capacity for follow-ups between sessions; 
  • Ensure the learning spaces are tidy and welcoming; 
  • Look after the Hackney lending library. 
     

Data: 

  • Take part in data analysis and reporting; 
  • Support with data analysis activities such as updating dashboards and reports; 
  • Collect family monitoring and evaluation data;  
  • Maintaining and updating evaluation tools such as updating questionnaires and setting up reading tests.
