Standing Together is a UK-based charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse and creating safer communities. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, police, and health services, to improve responses to domestic abuse and support survivors. We pioneered the Coordinated Community Response (CCR) approach in the UK, a multi-agency partnership model that ensures the safety of survivors while holding abusers accountable.
Through innovative training, advocacy, and community engagement, we empower individuals and organisations to challenge and change the systems that allow domestic abuse to persist. Our mission is to ensure everyone can live free from violence and abuse, fostering a culture of respect and equality. By leveraging research and best practices, we strive to influence policy and practice, making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse.
Purpose of the role:
The primary purpose of this role is to support the HR Manager in the effective execution of key HR operational tasks. This includes working closely with management and project teams to ensure a seamless and professional service experience for all individuals accessing the service. The role will also be responsible for organising and coordinating HR administration operations and procedures, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of day-to-day HR operations. This position plays a vital part in fostering organisational effectiveness, supporting collaborative work environments, and maintaining high standards of HR practice across the organisation.

Key Duties – What you will be doing:
- Assist with equipment logistics, office maintenance, and asset registry management, in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
- Respond to HR email enquiries, ensuring confidentiality, and support internal communications with staff.
- Serve as the first point of contact for staff and managers on basic HR queries, escalating when necessary.
- Support the recruitment process, from scheduling interviews to processing DBS checks and issuing job offers.
- Handle HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle, including promotions, pay rises, contract changes, and exit procedures.
- Oversee HR forms, ensuring proper filing and follow-up with relevant contacts.
- Update and maintain accurate employee data in the HRIS and SharePoint systems.
- Assist with compiling HR reports on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Support payroll administration and related tasks as needed.
- Cover Business Support Officer duties, including travel bookings, calendar management, and meeting minutes.
- Manage office supplies, post distribution, and ensure office equipment is well-maintained.
- Ensure the office meets health and safety standards in line with legislation.
- Support training and development activities, including preparing materials and updating staff induction packs.
- Assist in promoting the organisation’s mission, including ordering ID cards and creating promotional materials.
- Contribute to the organisation’s development, sharing feedback and participating in team meetings.
- Perform other HR tasks and project support as needed.
About You – Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience providing administrative and business support, with excellent organisational skills and strong IT proficiency.
- Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective professional relationships both internally and externally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience producing accurate minutes and responding professionally to a wide range of people.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, maintaining focus and attention to detail.
- Skilled in identifying and assessing potential risks in work activities, managing them in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Experience in overseeing premises and facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- A proactive self-starter, capable of using initiative and judgement in dealing with colleagues and partner agencies without direct supervision.

- Strong understanding of HR policies and procedures, with experience handling routine HR queries and supporting recruitment and employee lifecycle administration.
- Proficiency in using HR Information Systems (HRIS), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll administration, HR data management, and employee documentation throughout the employee lifecycle.
