Responsibilities of our Assistant Shop Manager:

As an Assistant Shop Manager you will assist with managing all shop activities and together with the wider management team, achieve set targets and maximise financial contribution to the charity. You will help with overseeing and managing all shop activities including recruiting, training and managing an effective team of volunteers; being responsible for the day to day running of the shop on days when the Shop Manager is not present, ensuring it meets agreed income and expenditure targets for Cats Protection and taking responsibility for the shop’s accounting procedures including cash reconciliation, daily banking and till procedures.

The Good Food Institute Europe (GFI Europe) is at the forefront of the movement to transform meat production in order to solve some of the world’s biggest problems, from climate change and global hunger, to antibiotic resistance and animal suffering.

We are at an exciting stage in our growth and are looking for a Donor Engagement Officer to support GFI’s fundraising efforts across Europe.

How you will make a difference

The work of GFI is powered by philanthropy. Reporting to our Philanthropy Manager, you will be responsible for translating the incredible work of GFI Europe’s programmatic teams into inspiring, engaging stewardship touch-points for our donors. You will bring creativity and data-driven insights to this role. The stewardship touch-points you deliver will support the work of our whole development team and inspire donors at all levels. You will also maintain and upgrade the support of leadership giving level (€2,000-€25,000 p.a.) donors in your own portfolio.

Your work will include:

• Delivering GFI Europe’s existing stewardship strategy (e.g. a mid-year impact update, end-of-year blog, virtual events, and gift anniversary emails). 
• Enhancing GFI Europe’s stewardship strategy to maintain and improve donor retention at all gift levels, by researching and recommending creative and effective stewardship ideas (e.g. videos, digital stewardship platforms, events), suggesting improvements to existing processes, materials and resources, and implementing these changes. 
• Building strong, meaningful, long-term relationships with a portfolio of 20-30 leadership-giving level donors and prospects (individuals and some foundations) across Europe through face-to-face meetings, video and telephone calls, email and other channels, to acquire, retain and upgrade their support.
• Collating and crafting timely, understandable, concise, and interesting updates about high-impact news about GFI Europe’s work, tailored to different countries and cultures, that frontline fundraisers can share with donors and prospects to show how their support makes a difference and inspires further giving.
• Helping to provide GFI Europe’s input into global stewardship materials and events, such as the Year in Review by collecting and submitting impact stories and collaborating with global colleagues.
• Assisting other frontline fundraisers with stewardship reports, according to need and capacity.
• Ensuring accurate, timely and thorough correspondence, acknowledgement and record-keeping at all stages of the donor journey for donors in your portfolio. You will use our CRM system (Salesforce) to manage prospects and supporters, enter and track gifts, pull reports, and analyse data. 
• Performing other relevant duties as required.

Who we’re looking for

• Tech savviness: Good level of IT literacy and a willingness to learn new software packages (training in Salesforce, Asana, and Google Suite will be provided).

Benefits and the fine print

• Terms of employment: Full-time (38 hours/week), flexible working hours, permanent.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons. We now have the opportunity to provide a service at HMP Highpoint. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme at HMP Highpoint, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.

This role will be prison-based. We are hiring a Recovery Worker to join our women's only refuge in Hove. The service supports 18 women with a trauma informed approach using a psychologically informed environment model to provide high quality, person centred support to all our residents. 

You will support with a range of frontline care and support activities within the service, in a varied role. You will work towards supporting residents/participants to achieve their desired goals/outcomes, and will ensure all residents/participants understand and have the right tools and resources for positive outcomes. You will also develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running of activities, projects and events. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rota. This may include shifts between Monday to Friday 10:00 - 18:00, 08:00 - 16:00 and 14:30 - 22:00. You will be based on site.

About the team

The Income Generation Directorate at Shelter comprises of 5 departments, delivering a mature fundraising programme that has seen continuous year on year diversity and growth. Our Corporate Partnerships team is split into two areas - New Partnerships which generates income by securing new relationships with private sector businesses, and the Partnership Management team, where this role sits, is responsible for the growth of Shelter’s voluntary income by managing and developing existing corporate partnerships spanning a variety of sectors. About the role

This is an essential and valued role within the Partnership Management team, as you will help design and deliver impactful partnerships to generate income to fund our vital work in response to the national housing emergency. You will lead on the employee fundraising and engagement activities across our valued corporate partnerships that include B&Q, Nationwide, HSBC UK, M&S and Network Rail. You will also lead on the success and development of a dedicated portfolio of partners, delivering colleague and customer facing fundraising and commercial campaigns to a high quality. You will utilise your proactive nature and creative skills to deliver new and innovative partnership activities that deliver against team targets and will be responsible for developing clear and efficient partnership plans to achieve these agreed goals. You will also be responsible for monthly reporting on income from your partners, updating our supporter database, and supporting the team in their activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are kept.

About you

You will be proactive and have excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage and win people over and convey complex ideas succinctly, confidently and persuasively. You will be well organised with the ability to prioritise and work efficiently with confidence to work independently and as part of a project team. You may have experience of, or a background in, corporate fundraising or partnership management that will help you to strengthen and develop existing partnerships, build strong, productive working relationships at all levels, and identify new opportunities to grow income across partners. Key Purpose: As the HR Manager you provide and enable a comprehensive, efficient HR service to the charity, while ensuring legal compliance and best practice, and enabling a positive culture driven by ethics and agreed values.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or similar non-profit organisation (minimum two years of managerial experience.)
• Current knowledge of Employment Law and predicted trends.
• Level 5 CIPD or equivalent HR related qualification/HR experience. 
• Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude towards all stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a solution-orientated approach.
• Demonstrable ability to uphold the key principles of HR including confidentiality, fairness, integrity, respect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Possesses a valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

• Level 7 CIPD or equivalent.
• Background in coaching and mentoring.
• Familiarity with farming practices.
