About the role

We are looking for a Housing Management Assistant to contribute & provide a safe and welcoming environment for our clients who are going through their individual recovery. Specifically, you will be responsible for the reception area, managing access to the buildings, housekeeping duties, rent collection, repairs management, contributing to inventory management, accurately logging and reporting incidents, and responding to neighbourhood concerns appropriately.

Hither Green Service (Spring Gardens and Hilda House) is a busy, flagship service which provides you with the opportunity to join a specialised and committed team supporting 68, multiple excluded, highly vulnerable adults with complex needs in Lewisham.

About you

You will possess a can-do attitude with self-initiative, capable in responding to a variety of situations, individuals, and groups appropriately, whilst maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. Previous experience is not necessary, but a good level of numeracy and literacy will be required as will an understanding of the issues that affect our client group. Most importantly, you will have a genuine desire to improve people's lives.

You will be someone who is keen to be involved in helping people rebuild their lives after experiencing homelessness and can demonstrate the below.

  • Understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services; or you may have personal experience of homelessness.
  • Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to people and basic strategies to deal with challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
