Are you a proactive, collaborative and target-driven individual with a proven record of delivering effective and engaging training to adults facing multiple disadvantages? Do you have a strong background of working to targets and recording information and statistics to enable effective performance monitoring?

If so, St Giles is looking for a highly motivated Trainer Assessor to join the team at Together Women in Hull. We work in partnership with the National Probation Service supporting women who are subject to community orders. We offer an end-to-end service that encompasses support and our trauma-informed, gender-specific approach aims to have a positive impact on the lives of women and their families.

About St Giles

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

About this exciting opportunity

As Trainer Assessor, you will liaise with St Giles staff and external partner organisations to identify and engage learners with the relevant skills, motivation and aptitude, before interviewing applicants, assessing learning and other needs and carrying out risk assessments. You will then work with learners to produce realistic individual learning plans, before providing a comprehensive induction and continual one-to-one support.

This support will include planning and delivering a training programme that will lead to the achievement of Level 3 Certificate in Advice and Guidance, where you will assess and support learners through the qualification and monitor their progress towards timely completion and certification. Developing and maintaining the range of work placement opportunities, matching learners to placements and ensuring positive relationships with placements providers is a key aspect of this role, as is attending internal and external meetings and best practice seminars and undertaking all the administration necessary for tracking learner progress.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of delivering training to adults facing disadvantage and ability to support people who have multiple and complex needs
  • A strong understanding of how to support and motivate learners with multiple complex needs
  • Proven ability to apply a creative approach to planning activities and to adopt a range of approaches
  • A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Please note this role requires Enhanced Adult DBS checks and Standard Vetting Plus as a probation contract at Together Women.

We are looking for female applicants only as the role is based at an all-women’s service. The Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1 applies to this post.

In return, you can expect a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, season ticket loan and much more.

We are an equity and inclusion confident employer. We welcome all applications and we particularly encourage applications from people of the global majority (black, brown, multi- heritage) and those who identify as disabled, neuroexpansive, neurodiverse, with any protected characteristics and/or social barriers or challenges. We value the empowering and informative impact that all lived experiences and diversity of thought can offer the organisation.

St Giles will guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria set out in the Job Description for the vacancy.
