With 1 in 5 children struggling with their mental health, our surf therapy intervention is needed now more than ever. We transform the lives of children struggling with depression and anxiety. It is an exciting time to join the charity - we have a new CEO in post who has plans to take this charity to new heights - reaching even more children than ever before and we need an experienced fundraiser who can help us achieve that vision. Working as part of a small fundraising team you will have the ability to really make a substantial difference.
The role is advertised as 15 hours however there is the hope that this will end up being increased in the not too distant future. We are looking for a brilliant Service Designer to join our team, designing, building and iterating services and products that span the whole of RNID. With a focus on translating and joining up user and organisational need, you will support us to deliver user-centred services to the 18 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.
You should have professional experience working as a Service Designer or in another similar role. Our Service Designer will design user-centred experiences for complex services. You will:

Create strong relationships by identifying and engaging key stakeholders. You listen to their needs and use evidence to bring the user need to life and to explain and influence decisions.
Prototype for both digital and non-digital services, working with designers and non-designers. You use prototyping to test and iterate designs and choose the right level of fidelity for the task.
Bring a digital perspective by being responsive to changes in technology and being able to design services that meet users’ needs in the digital environment.
You are passionate about user-centred design and placing people who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus at the heart of cohesive, impactful services. You are confident engaging with and influencing stakeholders and involving subject matter experts and users throughout the design process. We are RNID. Together we’ll make life more inclusive for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus.
Our charity has been through a complete transformation, while building on the best of our past. We’ve returned to our former, much loved name, become wholly remote working, and established a new strategy, focused on reaching the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus.
We are creating a radically different culture which is externally focused, curious, evidence-based, deliberate, agile, and future orientated. Our values are at the heart of what we do.
We strive to be and continue to connected to our communities, insightful and confident in what we do and who we are, curious in everything we do and passionate about our purpose.
We are ambitious and this is where you come in.
We champion the value of difference and equality and celebrate our diverse and inclusive workforce. We actively encourage applications from eligible candidates from BAME backgrounds or who are deaf or hard of hearing. With almost 20% of our employees having a disability we proudly hold Disability Confident Leader status and guarantee an interview for disabled applicants meeting the minimum essential criteria.

Animal welfare is in crisis. Could you help us stem the tide of cats and dogs being abandoned or given up for adoption?
If you have experience of working in the community, ideally with young people and marginalised groups, we have a fantastic opportunity to manage and develop our education and outreach work.
The pandemic pet boom, poor breeding practices and the rising cost of living mean that rescue centres, like Bath Cats and Dogs Home, are contending with unprecedented numbers of animals with complex medical and behavioural problems.
But it doesn’t need to be this way. By working in the community, we can address the problems before they reach crisis point.
We believe that every cat and dog should have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy life and a happy home. If pets are wanted and cared for then we’ll help them remain in their loving homes, which is why we’re expanding our outreach services, giving support to struggling pet owners when it is most needed.
The Education and Outreach Manager will work directly with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to manage existing projects and to shape and develop new initiatives. You’ll work in partnership with education providers, community groups and charities to ensure that Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s expertise and resources are directed to those most in need, and where we’ll have the biggest impact for animal welfare.
In return you’ll be part of a passionate and driven team. We commit to being kind, inspirational, dedicated, open and honest, and expert. If our values match your own, and you are inspired by the work that we do, then we’d love to hear from you.
