Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We currently have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers, siblings and professionals in 2023. 

Role Summary:
We are recruiting an Operations Officer who will support with operations across the charity. This includes supporting the team with administration, finance, training and fundraising. We are seeking an individual who is flexible and adaptive in their approach, and has excellent attention to detail, IT and communication skills. We are open to candidates who have a strong work ethic and are keen to learn and develop the essential skills for the role. Job Purpose 
Growing Hope is a national charity with a growing number of clinics across the UK. This operations role will provide support across the Growing Hope national staff team. This will include support with administration, finance, fundraising and training. This role is key in enabling all the functions of the national charity to run smoothly and effectively. The role will be based in King’s Cross with occasional events outside of the office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities 
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow. It is anticipated that this time will be flexible and adjusted according to the needs and priorities at the time. Specifically the role with include: 

IT administration

• Administration of IT systems, logins and spreadsheets for the team, volunteers, staff and freelancers (keeping these up to date and amending systems as required).
• Ordering and setting up IT hardware and software for individuals joining the team.
• Oversight of IT systems used by Growing Hope including ticket tailor, jot form, mail chimp, Microsoft office, google adverts and tracking. Supporting with problem solving when issues arise. 
• Overseeing and training others in Canopy (clinic administration software) and helping support and problem solve with using this. This includes liaising with a freelance software developer to manage the development project.

HR administration

• Oversight of the recruitment checking process for new volunteers, trustees, freelancers and employees. This includes carrying out DBS checks, calling referees, chasing for references and communicating with individuals as they start with Growing Hope.
• Management of the ‘internal news’ list in order to track individuals working closely with the charity. 
• Writing, drafting and sending out HR letters, contracts and contract variations. 
• Organising internal events on behalf of the team including away days, training days and ad hoc events. 
• Organising online training as required for members of the Growing Hope team.

Office Support

• Overseeing the day to day office and building use including the alarm, maintenance visits, wifi, printer and other equipment. This includes liaising with other individuals who have office use.
• Liaising with the Director of Operations around the use of the office.
• Ordering office supplies as required, ensuring office space and storage is kept organised. 
• Supporting with external events planning including finding venues, sponsorship and items needed.
• Ordering equipment as required across the team.
• Ad hoc tasks as required across the team. 

Volunteer admin support

• Processing volunteer applications and induction as required. 
• Oversight of volunteers using the office space on a day to day basis. Including allocating volunteer tasks and explaining and supporting with these as required. 
• Managing volunteer IT access. 

General 

• Sending letters and emails and making phone calls as required.
• Logging all actions on Salesforce database.
• Maintain data protection & confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.
• Actively contributing to staff prayer meetings and upholding Growing Hope’s Christian values.

Person Specification 
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL

• This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.  Excellent copywriting and proof-reading skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Ability to work with Microsoft word, excel, outlook and ppt efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to understand and work with back end IT systems such as wordpress, google admin suite and azure.
• Ability to take initiative and have a flexible approach to tasks.

Liverpool SHS is a mental health, 12 hour supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. • Create opportunities for corporate and academic entities to support CWRC through sponsorships, employee giving programmes, or other philanthropic initiatives. 

Administration and Reporting 

• Maintain accurate records of all fundraising activities, donor interactions, and financial contributions.

ABOUT US: The Counselling Partnership is an independent, local community charity.  We are committed to improving mental well-being by providing professional, affordable one-to-one counselling to adults facing a variety of difficulties.  These include depression, bereavement, anger, stress, anxiety, abuse, loss, phobias, post-traumatic stress, relationship, self-esteem, trauma and work or career-related issues. 

The Charity has a double purpose.  Addressing the psychological needs of our local community through appropriate counselling interventions is our first objective, but we do this by offering counsellors in training appropriate clinical experience, thereby helping to grow the counselling resources available to the wider community.

We have two outreach counselling rooms in Walton on Thames and Woking and provide on-line counselling to clients throughout Surrey.

The service provides individual therapy to people who have mild to moderate psychological issues, and we are able to offer counselling for up to a year, for clients who require longer term intervention to address presenting issues.

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.

An experienced Legacy and In Memory fundraising or marketing professional with a proven track record of developing and implementing campaigns aimed at creating legacy awareness, securing legacy pledges and increasing in memory donations for the Macular Society.

You’ll be familiar with and comfortable analysing data and insights that inform decision making and approaches towards legacy and in memory marketing, ensuring these activities are well targeted and effective, using a range of channels.

• You will develop, monitor and manage a trusts fundraising portfolio capable of generating in excess per annum. You’ll establish a trusts fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will enable you to make informed projections regarding future income.
• You’ll forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell Trust network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You’ll proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.
• Oversee and assist as needed the Foodbank Project Manager and Volunteer Manager to:

1.  Maintain relationships with key local stakeholders and identify fundraising opportunities and helping with other community relationships as needed.
2. Further develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies.

• Generate content to promote the work of the food bank, encourage donations through social media, regular foodbank newsletters and contact with corporate Volunteers.  

Skills

• You’ll have strong, established experience of trusts and foundations fundraising. Experience of corporate partnerships fundraising would also be beneficial.
•  With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills. You’ll be able to inspire and motivate new and existing funders.
• You’ll have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising KPI’s. 
• You’ll be tenacious and able to embrace, develop and shape a new role. You’ll be well organised, proactive, and a self-starter who is able to self-motivate.
•  You’ll be able to demonstrate empathy for people from disadvantaged, marginalised or socially-excluded backgrounds.

Working for an educational/arts and culture charity within Central London. This is a permanent position as an AP Officer, that offers flexible hours and hybrid working.
Your new role

• Responsible for the purchase ledger function, from invoice processing, through to payments and reconciliation.
• Ensuring the appropriate use of purchase orders and matching these to the invoices. Manage the outstanding purchase orders within the finance system and resolve issues identified.
• Create and submit for authorisation supplier payment runs and supplier terms, ensuring invoices are completed within a timely manner.
• Create and submit for authorisation of foreign payment requests, ensuring correct payment currencies are used.
• Key contact with suppliers, handling queries, account reconciliations and maintaining accurate supplier account records.
• Maintain a schedule of prepayments, identifying items from the purchase invoice entry, their release by journal entry over their relevant time period and reconciliation to balance sheet account on a monthly basis.

What you'll need to succeed

• AAT part-qualified.
• Demonstrated AP experience, with the ability to process invoices.
• Strong communication skills and is proactive in maintaining effective working relationships with others internally and externally.
• Strong excel and systems user.
