Job description

SignHealth is partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a permanent, full-time basis. SignHealth aims to improve healthcare and access to health services for deaf people. As well as campaigning, research and health promotion, we provide supported living schemes and outreach for deaf people with mental health problems. We provide a national Advocacy and Counselling service and support for deaf victims of domestic abuse.

Working under the Head of Finance, this newly created role will help to ensure the financial foundations of SignHealth are strengthened at a time the organisation is forecast to grow rapidly and significantly.

The key responsibilities of this Finance Business Partner role include:

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and non-finance colleagues, to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Use tools such as PowerBl, Power Query, and advanced Excel functions to build reports, conduct in-depth financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support strategic and management decision making for key stakeholders.
  • Use data from various data sources to understand historic trends and use this information to create financial models and presentations to inform budget decisions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the charity, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes the development of grant/donor reports.
  • Undertake monthly reviews with budget holders to review income and direct costs and feedback to key stakeholders where necessary.
  • Support the Head of Finance with the development of the annual budget and regular forecasts, including the design of tools, templates, and guidance. Collaborate with budget holders to gather necessary information and to produce a consolidated budget.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be part-qualified in a CCAB Accountancy Qualification, however candidates who are qualified by experience may be considered.
  • Have a background working within the not-for-profit or public sectors.
  • Hold extensive experience in a Finance Business Partnering position and be able to hit the ground running.
  • Have a good technical understanding of month-end processes, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Be an advanced Excel user and be proficient VLOOKUPS, SUM-IFS, index matching and ideally, Macros.

This opportunity will be based remotely with national travel required once a month. Excellent benefits are on offer for the successful candidate including 25 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays), two additional wellbeing days and a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.
