Global Security Intern
Sightsavers is looking for a part time Global Security Intern to support their Global Security team. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and practical skills in global security within international development.
Location: UK remote - occasional travel to Haywards Heath, negotiable
Salary: £21,840.00 per annum (real living wage)
Contract: Three-month fixed term contract
Hours: Part-time, flexible working. Two and a half days each week with flexibility around working pattern.
About the role
The role will invovle research, administrative and project work. It is a great way to develop your skill set and gain experience within international security and risk management at an international level. This internship offers practical, hands-on experience in global security and would be ideal for someone with a passion for safety and security with excellent research, reporting, analysis and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
· Maintaining and updating Sightsavers online security training modules
· Researching and writing country security context analyses for upcoming projects
· Maintaining and updating country security plans for Sightsavers operating countries
· Providing written analysis of current security issues for the management security report
· Drafting template documents when required by the security team
· Support the global security team when engaging with the Security Focal Point network

Skills and Experience
- Relevant work experience in international security (for example global travel management, international logistics, Government services, military) OR a degree (or equivalent) in a related field (for example intelligence, security, risk management, conflict studies, international relations).
- Proven ability to research and analyse information accurately, producing high quality written work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with administrative and general office duties.
- A flexible and adaptable way of working, with an obvious interest in the INGO field/international security sector.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Able to travel very occasionally to the office in Haywards Heath desirable
- Multilingual, for example French, Portuguese desirable

The ideal candidate will be dedicated and detail-oriented with a keen interest in international security and safety. You will enjoy conducting thorough research, writing and analysing security incidents, data, and reports, as well as maintaining and updating security documentation. You will also working closely with your team to support with any administrative tasks, as required by the security team.
