About You

About the Role

Reporting to the Legacy & In Memory Campaign Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the in memory giving programme and be the first point of contact for all in memory supporters. You’ll be developing and delivering engaging fundraising campaigns across different channels as part of our strategy to inspire people to give in memory of a loved one and to increase the income we’re able to raise so that we can reach and help more veterans. Developing relationships with supporters will be one of your strengths and you’re passionate about providing the best supporter experience for supporters across the charity. There’s lots of scope and potential for you to make a real difference and achieve considerable success in this role.

About the Team

The post holder will be working as part of the Individual Giving team in the Commercial Directorate which includes Legacy & In Memory, Supporter Care and Individual Giving. Across all our relationships, we build trust and engagement with our supporters and with each other. The quality of how we deliver our objectives is just as important as the end results. Reporting to the CEO, this role will take overall strategic responsibility for the financial and operational management of MyBnk. The role will manage the internal and external financial processing and reporting, ensuring statutory and donor compliance, and foster a business partnering approach between the Finance team and the wider organisation. Our Finance and Operations Director will offer strategic insight into planning, forecasting, financial modelling and budgeting. The role will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team, and be a trusted expert advising the Board of Trustees. They will be a key driver of operational efficiency and improvement.

Strategic Financial Management 

• Lead budgeting and management accounting processes, ensuring that senior management and trustees have a strong understanding of the financial implications of their plans and decisions, including forward financial modelling and forecasts, variance analyses, cashflow forecasts and reserves targets. 

• Ensure business partnering is in place that allows senior management and trustees are able to obtain answers to financial queries, relevant analyses, and updated information when necessary. 

• Leadership on all aspects of statutory annual reporting and audits, working with the external auditors, including the implementation of findings and improvement areas. 

• Working with senior management team to ensure donor-related processes are compliant, efficient, and provide the best results for the charity. 

• Ensure that all finance systems, policies and controls are fit for purpose and well understood across the charity. 

• Line-manage the finance team. 

Operational Financial Management 

• Oversee transactional processing, to ensure these are efficient and accurate, and accounting transactions are compliant with relevant accounting standards. 

• Oversee payroll, ensuring this is managed efficiently, accurately, and is compliant with HMRC and pensions regulations 

• Oversee internal management accounting and donor reporting and contract management 

• Oversee the financial aspects of donor acquisition 

• Ensure VAT reporting and other tax filings are completed on time and accurately 

• Manage the organisation’s cashflow and reserves levels, and maximise any potential investment returns 

Operational Delivery 

• Supported by the Systems Transformation and Database team, you will systematically enhance, streamline and optimise operational processes and systems to enhance the working practices of the organisation. 

• You will lead on efficiency, quality, and scalability while driving technological advancement. This includes systems, IT, CRM, facilities and vendor management. You will be supported by a Senior Systems and Transformation Manager and a Database Manager and our outsourced IT provider. 

• Enhancing adherence to organisational systems, e.g. Office 365, Sharepoint, Salesforce, ensuring the organisation becomes more efficient and effective in how it works.

• Maintain MyBnk’s risk register and ensure its regular review throughout the organisation.

Governance 

• Operate in the capacity of Company Secretary and ensure compliance with Companies House and the Charity Commission.

• Support the strategic development of the organisation to ensure it has appropriate management and governance in place as we continue to grow. 

• Ensuring compliance with charity and company law including UK GDPR and producing timely updating of accurate company records 

• With the CEO, ensure the appropriate scheduling and recording of the work of our Board of Trustee and sub committees ensuring papers are produced and that business flows effectively between the SLT and the board. 

Whilst much of this role is naturally about the internal mechanisms, all MyBnk Directors are proactively exploring and securing strategic partnerships that benefit the organisation. The Cambridge Centre for Animal Rights Law is an educational charity (not an activist group) working in the field of animal rights law.

We have a budget of some £120k pa, currently supported by a few large donors, and we want to broaden out our donor base and reduce our dependence on a handful of donors. We are looking for 8-12 donors - probably HNW individuals - each able to give £10-25k pa renewable. We have experience pitching the work of the Centre, but need help in meeting potential donors. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who can identify potential donors, make initial contact, and set up calls or meetings for us to meet with them and present the work of the Centre.

About the role

We're looking for a Virtual Fundraising Officer with strong project management skills, a data-driven mindset, and a passion for innovation to join the Virtual Fundraising Team. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for planning, delivering, and growing our portfolio of virtual fundraising events, engaging thousands of supporters each year.  As part of a small, dynamic team, you’ll need to excel in managing multiple priorities, bringing energy, creativity, and a drive for continuous improvement.

You’ll use data insights to analyse performance and optimise processes, ensuring our challenges are impactful and supporters are inspired to reach their fundraising goals. By designing exceptional supporter journeys, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the supporter experience, building strong relationships, and maximising engagement.

The Nature Centre is a 7-day-a-week seasonal facility (April to October) with a visitor experience focussed on Abernethy reserve, in particular the Caledonian pine forest and the species which live there, as well as the work of the Cairngorms Connect partnership.

During the Nature Centre season, with the Visitor Experience Manager and the seasonal team, you will help maintain and deliver the first-class visitor attraction; guaranteeing a high quality, on brand, visitor experience for all and maintaining exceptional customer care standards

You will also plan and deliver small events and maximise support for nature through encouraging membership of the RSPB, for which you will receive full training. You will deputise for the Visitor Experience Manager and help lead the seasonal team of staff and volunteers.

We have recently developed a Changing Places facility for those with disabilities and upgraded two woodland trails to make them more accessible. This represents an exciting new era for the Loch Garten Nature Centre, and we are keen to share these upgraded facilities with a wider audience, helping more people to connect with the nature surrounding them, and growing support for nature conservation. 

You will occasionally be asked to patrol the local trails in the evening with a colleague, to engage with visitors who may be wild camping, ensuring the forest and local communities are protected from visitor impacts, including wildfire. 

Outwith the season you will plan, develop and deliver audience-building events and assist the Visitor Experience Manager in planning for the following season.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day running of the Centre, upholding exceptional customer care standards for all
• Deliver a top-class experience for all visitors, ensuring everyone has positive and memorable contact with the RSPB, including giving talks and guided walks

We are looking for three six-month contracts starting as soon as possible, one of which will be extended for an additional two months, and one four-month contract starting at the beginning of May.

Executive Assistant

We are looking for an Executive Assistant to provide professional executive and administrative support to the Chief Executive, the Chair of Trustees and the Executive Directors of the charity by providing them with a range of executive and functional services.

This is a full-time role offering remote working. 

Position: SIT48 Executive Assistant

Location: Home-based, U.K nationwide. However, occasional travel may be required as part of this role (may include team meetings or other work-related meetings)

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £31,000 per annum (inner London weighting £3,950 per annum or outer London weighting £2,100 per annum may be applied in accordance to where you live)

The Role

This role is community-based and focuses on engaging kinship carers, bringing them together to form Peer Support Groups, and supporting them to achieve independence at which point they will receive ongoing support from our national Hub. You will be home-based with frequent travel across the London Boroughs and the South East of England, but initially predominantly working in and around Greater London.  Note - some work outside this area may be required.

You will do this by working with local authorities, schools, other charities and community groups. Arranging information events such as coffee mornings to engage kinship carers.

You’ll create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive community for kinship carers, building belonging, resilience, and empowerment.

We are seeking a person located in or close to Greater London, and willing to travel across the South East of England who possesses the drive, passion, and skills to:

• Establish new Peer Support Groups across a diverse range of communities
• Supervise a small team of Peer Support Development Officers
