Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you love managing events and projects? Are you ready to make an impact? If so, this role might be the perfect one for you as you join us as an Events Fundraising Assistant to support the recruitment of participants and the delivery of exceptional supporter experiences that raise income and awareness for Samaritans from a programme of third party events and challenges.

  • £23,000 - £26,000 per annum
  • Fixed term contract until June 2026.
  • Full-time role - 35 hours per week with flexible working.
  • We are flexible on work pattern (what days and hours per week the role is carried out).
  • Hybrid working: Linked to our Ewell (Surrey) office with home working and the option to work from our London office in EC3R.
  • In-person working: Meeting in person and working collaboratively are things we value. From Jan 2025, staff are expected to work in person around 2 days per month.

Key Responsibilities

As an Events Fundraising Assistant, you’ll be a key member of our team:

  • You will deliver planned activity for event participants recruitment, care, and communications.
  • You’ll deliver event participant stewardship plans, with engaging content and communications that support participants to maximise fundraising and build a lasting relationship with Samaritans.
  • You’ll track and respond to event participant enquiries, maintaining team inboxes, and any other communications channels used for events.
  • You’ll attend fundraising events off site on occasions when required.

About You​

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to provide high quality work, with attention to detail
  • Able to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrable organisational skills
  • Experience of in-person or virtual charity events
  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Experience of working with a fundraising database
  • Comfortable in a social and networking environment
  • Great at relationship building​
