Job description

The organisation:
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Interim Head of Marketing to join the RNIB and lead the transformation of their Marketing Delivery function. As the Interim Head of Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the transition to a new marketing model within the Engagement function. This is an incredibly exciting role for an experienced marketer with excellent leadership skills. This is an initial 3 month contract with the potential to extend and apply for the permanent role.

Lead the Marketing Delivery Team:

  • Form and lead a new Marketing Delivery team.
  • Line manage senior leaders, including Senior Marketing Managers, and guide them through the transition into new roles.
  • Work closely with the Director of Brand, Marketing, and Communications to set the vision, direction, and objectives for the Marketing team through to 2025-26.
  • Conduct an audit of key skill gaps in senior roles and lead recruitment efforts to fill these vacancies.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the team, helping them acquire new skills and reach their potential.
  • Leave a comprehensive development plan for the incoming Head(s) of team.

Support the Transition to a New Marketing Model:

  • Collaborate with teams to help redesign and refine ways of working within both Marketing Delivery and Strategic Marketing.
  • Champion the transition to a more agile marketing model that aligns with strategic goals and customer insights.
  • Work with Heads, Leads, and Manifesto to pilot new ways of working across the organization.
  • Partner with colleagues in CX and Digital to ensure a seamless integration with customer experience and digital engagement initiatives.


Person specification:

  • Proven leadership experience in marketing, with a strong track record of managing senior teams and driving change.
  • Experience in strategic marketing and marketing delivery, particularly in transforming and optimizing marketing models.
  • Strong skills in coaching and mentoring senior leaders, with a focus on skill development and team empowerment.
  • A collaborative approach, able to work cross-functionally with other teams (CX, Digital, etc.) to drive business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a strong ability to influence and inspire teams.
  • Agile and adaptable, with experience in leading organizational change initiatives.


What's on offer:
This role is offering a day rate of £269 - £288 per day PAYE + holiday pay for this 3 month contract. This is a hybrid role with travel into London for workshop meetings 1-2 days per week. This is a fast moving role and applications will close as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
