Job description

You have substantial experience of working in Housing and Social Care and an in‐depth understanding of mental health issues. You’d also like to be part of an organisation that counts on the professionalism, insight, expertise, and passion of its staff to inspire individual recovery for the people they work with. Welcome to Richmond Fellowship as a Service Manager.

Robin Hood Avenue is a small mental health, supported housing service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for managing the day‐to‐day running of the service, you’ll ensure the quality of support we provide to people who use our services is second to none.

Managing service contracts, line managing staff, carrying out inductions, undertaking investigations, putting team development plans in place and supporting business development colleagues – all are aspects of this challenging and rewarding role.

Substantial experience of managing a caseload of individuals with complex needs is a given, as is the ability to lead by example using a firm but inclusive management style. Some housing management experience would be useful too. Open and encouraging, you have lots of tact and diplomacy and are great at managing conflicting priorities. You also have a flexible approach to working hours and are happy to participate in on call arrangements.

In return for your skills and enthusiasm, this role comes with some really great benefits and excellent training and development opportunities.

This is a permanent part-time role requiring the post holder to work 22.5 hours per week.

We are committed to increasing our diversity and welcome applications from those with Lived Experience.

This is a rolling recruitment process. Candidates will be interviewed as and when they are shortlisted.

To apply, please send a CV and covering letter via our website explaining why you feel you are right for the role.

On 1st June 2024, Richmond Fellowship, part of Recovery Focus, a national group of charities highly experienced in providing specialist support services to individuals and families living with the effects of mental ill health, drug and alcohol use, gambling and domestic violence merged with Humankind to form a single organisation that provides the joined-up mental health, housing and drug and alcohol support we’ve all known has been needed for decades. In October 2024, Humankind will be renamed to reflect the new Organisation.
