Volunteering & Training Coordinator
Part Time (25 hours) – Office based
Monday to Friday 5 hours a day
9.00am - 2.00pm
We rely on a diverse pool of skilled and engaged volunteers to support us in delivering our service. Our volunteers are central to what we do and the volunteer coordinator has the responsibility for recruiting and supporting our volunteers, while leading on how we develop and improve volunteer’s experience and impact now and in the future. So, if you’re a good communicator with great organisational skills, we’d love to have you on board.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes and skills:
Essential Requirements
- Intermediate understanding of Google/Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience of managing staff and/or volunteers
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues at all levels
- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- A self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively
- Creative flair and an ability to work imaginatively
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a wide range of tasks
- Ability to deal with information in a confidential manner and respond with sensitivity to the opinions of others
- Experience of working in a voluntary sector setting
- Ability to work on own initiative, to organise work and meet deadlines
- Excellent listening skills and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to manage a range of objectives
- Experience of delivering training or public communication
- Flexible and non-judgemental approach to people and work.
- Awareness of and commitment to all aspects of anti-discriminatory practice.
