Hybrid working with regular travel to our London Bridge Office

What the job involves

We're on the lookout for an Executive Assistant to join our team at Prostate Cancer UK. This role plays a crucial part in facilitating the efficiency and effectiveness of the Leadership Team by delivering high-calibre, proactive administrative, logistical and operational assistance.

In this role, you’ll manage and prioritise diary appointments for Directors, arranging meetings, travel, and accommodation as needed. You’ll support the Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive and Chair with a variety of administrative tasks, regularly reviewing and adjusting future commitments in the diary. Additionally, you’ll assist Directors with meeting preparation, research, and correspondence, as well as prepare presentations and meeting documents.

You’ll liaise with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Directors, ensuring all interactions are of a consistently high professional standard. Part of your responsibilities will include handling purchase orders, submitting expense claims, and tracking invoices for the Directors. You’ll also coordinate the schedules and gatherings for the broader Directorate Team.

This will be a busy but varied, rewarding and interesting role where you’ll get to see firsthand the scope and impact of the work of Prostate Cancer UK, significantly contributing to our mission to give every man the power to navigate prostate cancer. You’ll work closely with the Leadership team and Executive Assistant to the CEO and form strong relationships within the wider organisation and beyond.

What we want from you

To be successful in this role you’ll have experience of senior level organisation and administration support in a small to mid-sized organisation. Any experience within the not-for-profit sector, volunteering or as acting as a Trustee would also be beneficial for this role.

You’ll also understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion when working in a trusted role with access to highly sensitive information. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service focus which means you’re great at collaborating and interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.

You’re flexible and proactive, able to work with initiative, have outstanding organisational, problem solving and project management skills. You demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and are a relationship builder.

Why work with us?
Every man needs to know about the most common cancer in men – prostate cancer. It’s a real and present danger that takes over 12,000 of our dads, grandads, brothers and friends each year.

Prostate Cancer UK is the largest men’s health charity in the UK. We have a simple ambition – to stop prostate cancer damaging lives. We invest millions in research to revolutionise testing, treatment and care. We’re blazing a trail to a screening programme that could save thousands of lives with regular, accurate tests for all men at risk. And we work tirelessly to spread the word about risk and offer specialist support to people living with the disease.

Work with us and you’ll see your efforts pay off as we give men and their families the power to navigate prostate cancer.

Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

At Prostate Cancer UK, we believe that equity, diversity and inclusion are essential to building a strong and innovative workplace, that represents, and can advocate for the communities we support. We stand against discrimination and prejudice, and we champion tolerance, fairness and equality in everything we do. This makes us stronger and helps us reach more people. We’re all here for the same reason: to give every man the power to navigate prostate cancer.

We're committed to righting health inequalities across the UK, starting with those faced by Black men who are at double risk. This includes ground-breaking research into Black men's risk and working with communities directly to overcome barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.

Therefore, we’re particularly interested in applications from those from marginalised and vulnerable communities. This will help us create an environment of inclusion where everyone can bring their authentic selves to work, where personal qualities are as important as professional experience, and our people feel seen and heard.
