What you’ll do

As part of our Health team, the Initiative Lead – Healthy Markets Initiative (HMI) is responsible for driving our health-focused campaign strategy, collaborating with institutional investors, and pushing major corporates to improve their nutritional standards and consumer health impact. This role is key to advancing corporate accountability, deepening stakeholder engagement, and integrating health as a critical aspect of responsible investment practices. The Initiative Lead plays a vital role in our projects and campaigns by refining our strategy, prioritising target companies, and leading the execution of our Healthy Markets Initiative.

A typical week will see you strategising with investors, refining the financial and moral case for corporate health improvements, leading discussions with major food and beverage companies, and drafting impactful communications to stakeholders. You’ll regularly engage with institutional investors and corporate leaders, forming strong relationships and using your expertise to influence better nutrition and health outcomes within the food and beverage sectors.

Finally, in this role, you will help ShareAction harness the power of investment to build a world where the financial system promotes health and wellbeing. By scaling up the Healthy Markets Initiative, securing long-term funding, and embedding health and nutrition as critical aspects of responsible investment, you’ll contribute to shaping a healthier, more sustainable future.

The Head of Finance is a new role which supports the growth of the global finance team in line with the rapid organisational growth and spread internationally. The Head of Finance role shall provide financial leadership, alongside the CFO, through proactive engagement with each business unit vertical, robust support, monitoring and challenge of financial decision-making in context of plans and strategic directives informing key decisions across the Global Organisation.

The organisation:

We are a high-profile non-profit organisation and trade association leading the international clean energy transition as the world seeks to stay within 1.5c global warming target. We have innovative programmes and collaborations promoting sustainable offshore and onshore wind development, mentoring women working in wind industry, education and energy access. 

GWEC are a Belgium registered association with subsidiary companies and offices in the UK, India, China, Portugal, Singapore, UAE and Vietnam and a global staff of around 75. We have grown our revenue five times in as many years and have bold growth plans over the next decade as we seek the urgent scale up of wind and clean energy in new and existing markets. We have over 20 live grants of up to $4m in value to support our work, particularly in the regional focus markets such as Southeast Asia.

The key duties of this Head of Finance are as follows:

• Prepare annual global organisation budgets by entity, business unit and project.
• Prepare multi-year forecasts and financial plans built on known and likely projects, activities, expected growth and blue-sky scenarios.
• Prepare regular financial performance reports for the Executive Committee and Board.
• Have critical oversight of the global results consolidation.
• Lead the Global Finance team with 3 direct reports and outsourced local relationships for each office jurisdiction.
• Prepare quarterly global and entity forecasts and supervise cashflow.
• Hold oversight of global fiscal and tax compliance.
• Plan, forecast and monitor recovery of funds from grant funded projects.
• Promote the visibility of financial data and outputs to stakeholders through continuous improvement and integration of finance and related systems and processes.
• Deputise for the CFO on Financial matters at Senior Management Team and Executive Committee meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have:

• Qualified as an Accountant: ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Non-profit experience, particularly with grants and project financial reporting.
• International experience – ideally at HQ group level (non-profit or commercial) demonstrating an understanding of cultural and logistical challenges.
• Excellent FP&A experience, including modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience of managing a finance team.
• Experience providing a proactive partnering role to business operations, especially in ensuring achievement of budgets
• The willingness to travel internationally to other GWEC offices on an infrequent basis.

Populo Living are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a permanent Head of Finance – Treasury and Financial Planning. Populo Living is a development and housing company wholly owned by a single shareholder, Newham Council. Populo Living enable Newham to keep control of Council land and build high quality, low carbon homes and neighbourhoods whilst retaining the developer profit for Newham Council, in the form of new affordable homes and long-term investment income.

The role of Head of Finance – Treasury and Financial Planning will lead, manage and co-ordinate the provision of the Groups Financial Planning, Treasury Management Services and Management Accounting functions as well as assist the Finance Director to lead and manage the Finance team.

The role:

• Lead, manage and motivate a team of four with two direct reports.
• Lead on all treasury related matters for the group such as arranging new funding, loan compliance, cashflow and banking.

About the role

A key member of the senior leadership team, the Director of Finance contributes to shaping and implementing the Gallery’s strategic development.

They will need to demonstrate a high degree of energy and agility, with the ability to build highly effective, collaborative working relationships at all levels of the organisation. Position

As part of the Financial Sector Standards Directorate, the Co-Head of Investor Engagement is responsible for leading ShareAction’s engagement with asset owners, asset managers and investment consultants. The role is key to establishing, sustaining and deepening constructive relationships with investment professionals at the heart of the financial system, challenging, encouraging and supporting them to raise their ambition on climate, nature, decent working conditions and people’s health. This is a new role that has been created from a restructure of the team that we hope will allow both parts to work more collaboratively.

In this role, you will be accountable for designing and leading ShareAction’s strategy to engage and influence major global institutional investors. You will help ShareAction work towards our vision by playing a leading role in shaping a dynamic new strategy for engaging pension funds to be active responsible stewards of pension savers’ capital, helping them to exercise positive influence over the wider investment system in the interests of the people whose assets they manage.

You will work closely with your fellow Co-Head of Investor Engagement, who acts as Technical Lead. They bring analytical and research expertise, ensuring that ShareAction’s insights, guidance and research outputs are informed, credible and robust. Your vital contribution will be to build constructive and sustained relationships with our key audiences in the investment industry and to shape inspiring and engaging events, dialogue and communications that deliver our messages in ways that resonate.

The Co-Head role is not a job share – both Co-Heads are full-time roles. Jointly, you are accountable for the design and overall delivery of ShareAction’s investor engagement strategy and for the wellbeing and performance of the Investor Engagement Team. However, you each have distinct accountabilities within the strategy, and the Engagement Lead (this role) will have primary responsibility for team operations (budget, risk and plan management, as well as monitoring, evaluation and learning). The team comprises eight more junior colleagues, six of whom will sit in your reporting line, with three reporting directly to you. As a team Head, you will also be part of ShareAction’s Extended Leadership Team, which plays a key role in organisational leadership, strategy and decision-making.

You will also liaise closely with colleagues who lead our advocacy with policymakers, as well as those who lead our corporate campaigns, helping to coordinate their efforts to build coalitions of investors that drive change through collaborative engagements with specific companies and sectors. You will also oversee the secretariat function which ShareAction provides to two networks of mission-led investors (the Charities Responsible Investment Network and the Responsible Investment Network – Universities), supporting their ambitions to be at the leading edge of responsible investment practice.

What you’ll bring to the team

We want to hear from you if you’re highly skilled in strategic stakeholder relationship management and have a passion for making the financial system work in the interests of people and the planet. We think this role could suit someone who has previous experience in the financial sector. Or perhaps, you may have worked in wider industry in investor relations, in a professional services organisation, or in a stakeholder-facing role within a civil society organisation or regulatory/policymaking body. Additionally, the key aptitudes we’re looking for are the ability to shape and lead a strategy to engage and influence with impact and the ability to lead and manage a passionate and talented team. However, we recognise that talent comes from all types of backgrounds, and lots of skills are transferable.
