Every three minutes someone in the UK develops dementia: a progressive and complex condition that can be devastating for the whole family. One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime – either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.
Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nursing charity that is there for the whole family. Our specialist nurses, known as Admiral Nurses, provide free, expert advice, support and understanding to help families care for their loved one. Purpose of the job/About the role
Join our Delivered Services team as an Admiral Nurse and bring your specialist dementia nursing expertise to support family carers, people affected by dementia, and professionals who require specialist advice. You’ll be a key member of our team, providing biopsychosocial support through our National Dementia Helpline and Virtual Clinic appointments.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and support other clinical projects across the charity, benefit from monthly clinical supervision, and participate in a range of learning opportunities to support your ongoing professional development.
As an Admiral Nurse, you’ll be responsible for providing nursing support and expertise, offering practical guidance to colleagues, the general public, those with dementia, and others in supporting family and relationship-centered approaches to dementia care. You’ll also lead and coordinate shifts as required, providing clinical supervision to others and assist with the development, evaluation, audit of the service.
To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be an active Registered Nurse on the NMC register with a post-registration qualification or training in dementia care or a relevant subject. You will have significant experience of practicing as an Admiral Nurse or dementia specialist nurse and previously worked with people who have dementia and their family, carer and supporters in different settings.
Strong communication skills are essential, as is a proven track record of providing high standards of clinical leadership and specialist nursing support. You should be adept at providing clinical advice, clinical supervision, and advocating for family carers.

Role responsibilities
Human Resources Support
- Recruitment: Support the recruitment process by helping to create job descriptions, place adverts, attract quality candidates and conduct assessments.
- Staff Onboarding: Ensure all new staff are welcomed and integrated into the organisation, guided by the new starter checklist.
- DBS & Safer Recruitment: Ensure the safety and well-being of all beneficiaries, by ensuring appropriate DBS checks are conducted for all employees, volunteers, trustees, and contractors who work with or have access to children, young people, or vulnerable adults and employees

They do this by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are now seeking a Service Manager, to oversee their Intensive Support Service (ISS) , on a temporary basis.
As Service Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day development, management, and service delivery of the Intensive Support team, that supports around 50 service users with complex needs, leading, supporting and motivating a team of 7. You will develop practice based on a trauma informed approach, review referrals, and ensure that new Core residents are properly assessed. Supporting the Deputy Manager, you will set team standards, ensuring that monitoring and evaluation regularly takes place, and maintain up to date knowledge in all areas of support, including but not limited to housing law, welfare rights, EEA national eligibility and entitlement, immigration law, substance misuse, mental health, local authority guidance and in homelessness provision.
To be considered for this role you will have significant experience of working with vulnerable adults with complex needs, as well as experience of leading a specialist service delivery team in either a supported housing, advice, homelessness or other relevant environment. You will also have case management experience and be able to deliver best practice with regards to needs assessments, high quality personalised support or advice services to vulnerable adults, including people with complex needs. You will have knowledge and understanding of the housing and support needs of single homeless people and be able to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment.

This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for young people who urgently need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services within the Essex area.
We wish to recruit 2 Substance Misuse Practitioners to join our established Essex Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Team (EYPDAS) supporting young people aged 8-25 who are using or misusing substances.
You will provide direct therapeutic support to vulnerable young people, vulnerable young adults and families who are affected by substance use.
Support offered will include one to one face to face interventions, targeted group work & online support across the County. You may also facilitate training around substances for statutory and voluntary agencies across the County.
The young people will require a skilled practitioner who is experienced in working with hard to reach, vulnerable young people at risk and using trauma informed therapeutic approaches. You should have experience of facilitating groups with knowledge of the issues and legislation affecting young people who are using or misusing substances.
What we are looking for...

Our suite of children and young people’s residential services provides trauma-informed care to looked after children with complex trauma presentations, mental health difficulties and/or risk behaviours. As a key part of our team, you will work directly with the children and young people to complete psychological assessments and trauma informed interventions.
You will provide support for recovery through the Ashurst Mastery Model which promotes assets, reduces barriers, prevents and mitigates the impact of trauma and prevents harm and/or re-traumatisation. You will also work with the Home staff teams and facilitate psychologically informed consultations, reflective practice sessions and a skills based intensive training programme with ongoing learner guidance.
Working predominately within our Nottingham homes, you will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, generally 9am - 5.30pm but with a degree of flexibility to support the needs of the children. You will also join the on-call rota and provide cover for crisis calls.
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold:
• Doctorate or Stage 2 qualification in Clinical/ Forensic/ Counselling Psychology;

About the Role:
As a Hospital Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will be supporting victims of domestic abuse. This is a key role at the hospitals working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support. As an IDVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support & advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional & practical support
- Advocating on behalf of service users to help them access services to keep them safe
- Working within a multi-agency framework to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse
- Delivering training to hospital staff & local partner agencies
You will need:
- Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse
- An understanding of domestic abuse & it's impact
- Knowledge of risk assessment, safety planning & risk management
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Experience of direct service delivery to vulnerable people
- Good communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals
- Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

St Neots Foodbank was founded ten years ago by the town’s churches; and is part of the Trussell Trust network and is still managed by trustees from those churches. At St Neots Foodbank we have our own warehouse and run four distribution centres across St Neots each week; all currently staffed by over 70 volunteers.

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the operations at St Neots Foodbank, giving particular attention to operational efficiency and standards in line with the terms of the franchise, including the implementation of existing policies and standard operating processes. You will be instrumental in enabling our Foodbank to continue to support our community and support and guide its future development.
Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be able to demonstrate great leadership qualities to build strong teams based on trust and understanding. Self-motivation, organisation and excellent interpersonal skills will be essential for this role. We are looking for an individual who is in sympathy with Christian values, and who has the ability to work empathetically with people from disadvantaged, marginalised, or socially excluded backgrounds.
