Reporting into the Digital Marketing and Media Manager you’ll be responsible for the delivery of digital marketing and communications, website content and press.
You’ll help to directly build brand awareness and grow our fundraising and services which will transform the young lives of those with the most complex disabilities.

What you’ll need for the role:
- Knowledge of the public, charity, education or care sectors, with a focus on fundraising

- Ability to write high quality marketing communications copy that is engaging, informative, interesting and has story telling at its heart
- Skilled at producing photographic and short film clip content

- Adept in the use of image manipulation software, email marketing systems and automation platforms
- A degree or qualification in communications is not essential but would be beneficial.

Our Activity Service
The Activity Service is an important part of our organisation, delivering high quality activities to the older people of Merton. Our Activity team create and deliver a wide range of activities including a daily lunch club, crafting, poetry, singing and exercises at our centre in Mitcham and other locations across the borough of Merton.
The Activity service is busy and vibrant where no two days are the same, the service has over 10,000 attendees a year, taking part in over 700 activities and exercise classes. The service enables our community to live more healthily, happily and independently in later life.
Age UK Merton is in its second year of a new 3-year Strategic Plan, which aims to increase outreach and engagement across the borough, and our activities programme is a very important part of that.
About the Role
We are recruiting an Activity Coordinator to support the Activity Service Manager in the delivery and development of the Activity service.
The Activities Coordinator will be a hands-on role, working with the team to deliver a wide range of activities both existing and new at our centre and across the borough of Merton.
The role will play a key part in organising the delivery of existing activities, ensuring they are delivered to an exceptional standard with the service users at the heart of the service.

Help us make churches more Single Friendly
Single Friendly Church Network encourages churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life. We are experiencing an exciting new chapter where our work and influence is growing across a wide range of denominations. We want to reach more churches across the UK who could benefit from our resources and training, with the vision that all single Christians will be able to find a welcoming Single Friendly Church in their local area where they can flourish.
We achieved charitable status in 2023 and have a newly refined purpose and identity set out in a new website and other digital media (see for example our YouTube Channel and the promotional film ‘Inspiring Change’).
We now aim to expand our impact across the UK and deepen our engagement with churches from a wide range of Christian denominations, in accordance with our strategy.
Fundraising Consultancy Role
In order to achieve our objectives, we are seeking a Fundraising Consultant to develop and implement a strategy to:
- Diversify our funding base and raise new grants and donations to support our work;
- Raise specific funding to develop a small team of Regional Champions in the regions of the UK, working part-time to grow our network of Single Friendly Churches;
- Secure grant support to refresh our research in order to identify the issues facing single people in the Church and how ‘single friendly’ churches are across the UK.
The Fundraising Consultant will regularly engage with our UK based team and provide quarterly reports to our Trustees. Ideally the Consultant will have the necessary skills to process Gift Aid claims.
The target for funds raised within 12 months is £100K. This will require creativity and a range of initiatives, targeting different potential funding sources.
Person Spec:
- Experience of developing and implementing fundraising strategies for charities;
- Able to provide evidence of significant success in fundraising;
- Record of working collaboratively with teams;
- An understanding of Christian culture and the different Christian traditions;
- Experience of fundraising for Christian-based charities;
- A strong commitment to our beliefs and mission to encourage churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life.

Manchester Museum will play a key role in the campaign. The Museum – which is part of The University of Manchester – cares for over 4.5 million objects, with an internationally important collection spanning from Archaeology to Zoology. It works with communities, supports university students and schools in Manchester and beyond, and is a free, inclusive museum for all.
Since reopening after a major capital redevelopment in February 2023, Manchester Museum has gone from strength to strength. In its first year it more than doubled its visitor numbers. The Museum’s visitor base today reflects its communities and context – just under a third of visitors are under 25 and over a third are from the global majority.
As the University’s fundraising lead for Manchester Museum, you’ll be responsible for driving forward the Museum’s philanthropic fundraising strategy, working closely with colleagues across the Museum and our wider University fundraising team. You’ll unlock the potential of philanthropy at Manchester Museum – developing and nurturing relationships with people, networks, businesses and associations who have the ability to make significant gifts to support Museum priorities. I am excited to be working with an amazing international huma rights charity in search of a Digital Assistant. This is an immediate start, part-time (30hrs per week), London based hybrid (1 day in office bi-weekly) role for around 3-months. As the Digital Assistant your role will be to support the maintenance, development, reporting and monitoring of the organisation’s website.
Main duties:
Create visually appealing pages using the WordPress Gutenberg page builder in collaboration with colleagues, providing guidance on layout and content presentation.
Implement content updates on the WordPress CMS, ensuring the site is dynamic and up to date, including refreshing hero banners based on agreed priorities.
Study site analytics and make recommendations for UX improvements to address user pain points.
Ensure accessibility compliance, regularly monitoring the site for accessibility, making fixes, and suggesting improvements.
Troubleshoot bugs or errors under the guidance of the HDE and escalate to the web development agency when necessary.
Conduct quality assurance using tools like Google Search Console, performance checks, and broken link checker software.
Advise colleagues on on-page SEO, using Yoast to improve page rankings.
Provide support to web editors by troubleshooting upload issues and assisting with the creation and approval of web resources to ensure adherence to style guidelines and upload procedures.
Onboard new web editors, giving training sessions and updating the web editor’s guide and style guide when necessary.
Source and edit photography for news stories and web pages, maintaining an organized image folder structure with properly labelled and captioned images.
Assist with monthly website reports, using tools such as Matomo.
Review and action web contact requests, providing timely support with requests based on HDE guidance.
Support digital development projects as requested by the HDE.
Maintain the CRM by supporting data updates as necessary.
Process supplier invoices and assist with administrative tasks related to digital projects.

You will have significant experience of working with vulnerable people and doing so in in partnership with a range of stakeholders. Being able to manage multiple projects, including budgets; build the capacity of others and be effective and proactive in communicating are all key. An understanding, and appreciation of, God’s call to serve the poor is essential as is being comfortable in talking about Christian faith and theology.

Animal welfare is in crisis. Could you help us stem the tide of cats and dogs being abandoned or given up for adoption?
If you have experience of working in the community, ideally with young people and marginalised groups, we have a fantastic opportunity to manage and develop our education and outreach work.
The pandemic pet boom, poor breeding practices and the rising cost of living mean that rescue centres, like Bath Cats and Dogs Home, are contending with unprecedented numbers of animals with complex medical and behavioural problems.
But it doesn’t need to be this way. By working in the community, we can address the problems before they reach crisis point.
We believe that every cat and dog should have the opportunity to enjoy a healthy life and a happy home. If pets are wanted and cared for then we’ll help them remain in their loving homes, which is why we’re expanding our outreach services, giving support to struggling pet owners when it is most needed.
The Education and Outreach Manager will work directly with the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team to manage existing projects and to shape and develop new initiatives. You’ll work in partnership with education providers, community groups and charities to ensure that Bath Cats and Dogs Home’s expertise and resources are directed to those most in need, and where we’ll have the biggest impact for animal welfare.
