We are seeking a talented Interim Assistant Director of Programmes and Delivery, fully committed to our widening participation cause, to join the Senior Leadership Team for 8 months.

In your role, you will ensure that our centres are working effectively, that the high quality of programme delivery to young people is maintained across the network, and that targets are monitored and met. And of course, you will need to  have a genuine passion and enthusiasm for working with young people and helping them achieve their ambitions.

Contract
This is an interim role from September 2024 to May 2025. This role can be either full-time or part-time (0.8 FTE) -  responsibilities will be adjusted proportionally for part-time candidates.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. The role will be based at one of our centres. We are an organisation with team members at different stages of their career, including many in their first roles: We are committed to nurturing talent and providing a developmental culture for all. Our central operations team works in-person 4 days per week (or 3 days for a 0.8 FTE staff member) with 1 day from home.

Location
The role could be based in one of the following offices, with regular travel: Bradford, Birmingham, Bristol, Clacton, Great Yarmouth, Hull, Kirkby, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Norwich, Nottingham, Weston-super-Mare.

Salary

• £52,000 from September 2024.
• Plus additional London contribution of £2,600 for London-based candidates.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA) to be based at Carlisle Infirmary.

This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse predominately risk assessed as high risk service across Cumberland. This is a key role at the hospital working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

As an IDSVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to hospital staff and local partner agencies

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic and/or sexual abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

Role Requirements

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
• Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
• Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
• Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
• Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
• Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
• Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
• Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
• Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
• Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
• Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

Rehab Assistant

35 hours per week

£12.50 per hour

3% contributory pension

25 days holiday pro rata per annum in addition to public holidays.

The post-holder will be based at Headway Surrey’s centre, at Headway House, 21 North Road, Guildford, GU2 9PU.  Occasional remote working may be offered either permanently or ad hoc with Services Coordinator’s prior agreement. 

3 months probation

On the job training will be provided at all times to help develop your skills and knowledge. 

After successful completion of probation, the post holder will be required to undertake a self-study Brain Tree Training Course, called Cognitive Rehabilitation for Professionals which will be paid for by Headway Surrey.  Assignments, exercises, and self-tests are included throughout the coursework—some of which are mailed or emailed to a course tutor for feedback.  Headway Surrey will provide 2 hours a week paid study time.  The course should be completed within 6-12 weeks.

Training on Headway Surrey’s CRM database, Charitylog will be given.

A clean driving licence must be held. Car mileage allowance for travel to meetings in connection with work

JOB PURPOSE:

The main purpose of the role is to:

• Carry out tasks allocated by the Services Manager;
• assist the Rehab Coordinators with a range of administration tasks and session support.
• support clients during workshops and with other admin tasks.

A Rehab Assistant will play a key role in achieving Headway Surrey’s objectives by supporting the Rehab Team to achieve our vision and mission:

Vision - To be known as the go to place for acquired brain injury in Surrey.  Supporting people in Surrey from all circumstances with traumatic and acquired brain injury, their carers, and families, are supported to improve their quality of life by optimising recovery and maximising independence.

Mission – Headway Surrey supports people with head injuries, their families, and carers, and promotes understanding of the implications of head injury throughout Surrey.

ROLE OVERVIEW 

The key areas of responsibility include:

To support Centre Day Workshops which run on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am-2.30pm.  Under the direction of a Rehab Coordinator and with the assistance of volunteers:

• Prepare worksheets for clients.
• Support clients to complete worksheets.
• Help to present sessions.
• Stimulate conversation and managing correct behaviour in a classroom environment.
• Oversee other sessions throughout the day, which may include art, boardgames, discussions, brain injury education workshops etc.

To attend team meetings as required, either in-person or zoom.

To provide administration support to enable new enquiries (clients and carers) to access Headway Surrey’s rehab services. Undertaking assessments after training has been completed.

To record accurately all details on CRM (CharityLog), eg. documents, medical evidence, client contract forms, GDPR consents, details of phone calls, emails etc. 

To support clients to complete Brain Injury ID Card application forms, issued by Headway UK. 

To support clients by liaising with adult social care or Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) and signposting where appropriate.

As part of the team, you are required to clean and tidy the centre, as necessary.

INITIALLY

To undertake an induction program given by the Services Manager and other members of staff.  Observation of sessions, training on CRM, telephone system and other processes/systems.

OTHER TASKS

As a small organisation we plan carefully, but sometimes, medical and unplanned absences may present themselves.  We may need you to cover / help the team.  Training will be given, so that you are prepared for these eventualities.

To provide occasional support in the wider administration duties of the organisation as directed by the Service's Manager.

This role is home-based but requires extensive travel within the area. It can be either full or part time.

As a Community-based Energy Adviser, you will focus on supporting and educating individuals and families who face barriers to accessing energy services and may be in fuel poverty. You will be working with people in their homes or advising them at events in their local community. You will support them through the process of managing and reducing debt, accessing funding and engaging with smart technology.

This can be a demanding role – some of your clients will be facing huge challenges – but it is extremely rewarding and you will be making a measurable difference to people’s quality of life. You will give at-risk consumers the knowledge and confidence to be more engaged in their energy use and able to make sound decisions to manage it — ultimately putting money back in their pockets and improving their resilience and wellbeing. You will be a positive, intuitive and caring ally, empowering people who are overwhelmed by the world of energy and who may be facing multiple economic and societal challenges.

About our Wellbeing Centres

We offer a safe, non-judgmental space to take part in group activities, chat with others over a cuppa, play a game, read a book, or just sit quietly over some mindful colouring. Our sessions are facilitated by our recovery workers who can also provide information about other services available locally and on ways to support your well-being.

About the Role

This is a varied role which involves leading the continuous development of the service to ensure that it meets the needs of the community, in line with Mind BLMK values, including promotion of the service and building strong links with other local organisations, groups, agencies and the wider community. The role also holds responsibility for referrals into the service and leading on more complex cases to assess suitability along with managing the staff, volunteer and student team delivering the service and for the health, safety and maintenance of the Luton Wellbeing Centre.

Service Delivery

• Operate a service and ensure outcomes which supports individuals to deescalate crisis and develop strategies for recovery and increased wellbeing, in line with Mind BLMKs Recovery Model and contract requirements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the delivery of the Luton service plan and in line with local Luton stakeholder initiatives and plans.
• Work closely with the recovery and peer workers to ensure the correct access to service procedure is followed, taking responsibility for more complex referrals and ensuring everybody has a consistent and quality experience and are able to access the correct service for them in an acceptable timescale.
• Ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteer and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health strategies.
• Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of Recovery and Peer Workers, volunteers and student placements).
• Work with the Operational Services Manager to review, design and implement changes to service delivery and working models, ensuring the service meets the needs of the local community, and identify relevant funding opportunities.
• Hold responsibility for health and safety (risk assessments, reviews, reporting, safeguarding, incidents/accidents, premises), data collection, budget & cash handling (and associated record-keeping), in line with Mind BLMK’s policies, procedures and guidance.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Trainee Project Worker or Trainee Floating Support Worker at services across London, including Westminster, Lewisham, Camden, Islington and Redbridge.

We help single Londoners by preventing homelessness, providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change.

Trainee Project Worker roles are based in supported accommodation services, where we aim to prepare clients for independence and positively impact their quality of life. These services provide temporary and longer-term accommodation for people who may have associated difficulties relating to mental health, complex support needs and trauma. In this role, you will be working on a shift rota, which will include working early shifts: 8am - 3:30pm/4pm and /or late shifts: 3:30pm - 10:30pm and could include some weekends and bank holidays.

We may also have Trainee Floating Support Worker roles, working to support a caseload of people who are at greater risk of homelessness with a focus on addressing housing-related issues, improving quality of life and promoting independence. Your support will include help with benefits issues, mental and physical ill health, hoarding and antisocial behaviours within a recovery framework and structured key working assessment. This work will involve regular travel in London, visiting clients in their own homes or other locations. 

As a Trainee, you will be working in a varied and rewarding role amongst a committed and supportive team. The training programme will teach you how to provide this support to clients, enabling them to achieve the objectives they have collaboratively created in their support and action plans. You will also assist clients with routine tasks and their goals relating to training, education, or employment.

As a Trainee, you will receive increments to your salary at six months and at nine months (subject to successful completion of the Trainee Programme).

You do not need to have previous or formal experience working in the homelessness sector or in a support role. We are seeking people with transferable skills and experience gained from a varied background, who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work that we do. You will be ready to learn on the job and we will support you to develop your own learning and practice through a structured programme and teamwork.

We are looking for people who are creative thinkers, that are committed and motivated in inspiring our clients into leading successful lives.  In return, we will provide you with a comprehensive and engaging Trainee Programme. Involving ongoing support, trainee specific workshops and plenty of opportunity to learn on the job through formal training, reflective practice, service visits and working with experienced colleagues. The traineeship period will run up to 9 months with a possibility for a fast track at 6 months.

The South East London Suicide Bereavement Service is a collaboration between South East London Mind, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and Mind in Bexley. The service provides vital emotional and practical support to adults and young people who have lost a loved one to suicide. You will be joining a supportive team who share a passion for working with people during some of the most difficult experiences of their lives.

We are looking for a compassionate, reflective and resilient individual to fill the key role of Suicide Bereavement Support Worker. Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver one-to-one emotional and practical support and co-facilitate occasional bereavement support groups. This role involves building relationships with people from all walks of life and managing your own caseload. You will have ownership over your work, while being supported through regular supervision and reflective practice.

With experience providing emotional support, including to those who have experienced bereavement, you will be an excellent communicator with good assessment and support planning skills. You will also be highly organised and able to manage a busy and varied workload. The ability to adapt your approach to a wide variety of people, ensuring that support is inclusive and sensitive to service users’ cultural and religious backgrounds, is essential. This role involves meeting clients in the community, including carrying out home visits. Although it is possible to fulfil the travel requirements of the role by public transport, this would best suit someone with access to their own mode of transport, such as a car or bicycle.

We encourage applications from people with lived experience of bereavement by suicide, although this is not a requirement for the role.
