Job description

We are looking for an experienced National Support Services Manager (Financial Support Grants) to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Support Services and Care Administration Team at the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association. This role plays a key part in ensuring our services run smoothly, meeting demand, and delivering on our mission to improve the lives of people affected by MND.

You will work closely with the Head of National Support Services, supporting them in reporting to Directors and Trustees and ensuring our services operate within agreed budgets and timescales. Leading and motivating a dedicated team, you will oversee their professional development while ensuring the effective use of our CRM system to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with external suppliers and agencies to ensure the timely delivery of necessary equipment and services. Maintaining high standards of data protection and ensuring compliance with regulations is essential, as is developing performance metrics and a quality assurance framework to evaluate our services' impact and effectiveness.

Collaboration is central to this role, and you will build relationships with other charities and support agencies to share best practices and explore joint initiatives. You will also contribute to reviewing policies, providing regular reports to key stakeholders, and identifying trends and issues in equipment provision, information, and financial support.

What are we looking for?

An experienced professional with a strong background in managing grant programmes and leading teams. You will need excellent people management skills to inspire and support both staff and volunteers, while ensuring effective delivery of services.

The ideal candidate will be skilled at building relationships, working diplomatically, and responding sensitively to the needs of others. Knowledge of Health and Social Care, as well as medical and research issues, is important.

You should be confident working in a digital environment, with experience using online case management systems and an understanding of the importance of maintaining high data quality. Strong analytical skills and the ability to present statistical information clearly will also be essential.
