Senior Wills and Trusts Officer

Are you excellent at building and maintaining relationships? Confident at presenting to audiences? Ready to get stuck into a challenging, hugely exciting and rewarding role? If so, this could be the job for you.

We are looking for a Senior Wills & Trusts Officer to join our team. This is a full time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position. Whilst we offer the flexibility to work from home, we would love for you to be in the London office for our team working day on a Tuesday.

The new Senior Wills & Trusts Officer will be responsible for engaging with and supporting families and carers of a loved one with a learning disability when it comes to writing a Will and setting up a Trust. This role is part of a small but determined team that leads on the continued growth of the Wills & Trusts Service.

Other key aspects of the role are:

·        Supporting the Wills & Trust (W&T) Manager on the delivery of the Wills and Trusts team programme of online webinars. This includes taking the lead on presenting at least half of.

·        Working with the W&T Manager to support the delivery of the Wills and Trusts strategy by project managing a range of improvements, managing them from start to finish and reporting on successes and learnings.

·        Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams across Mencap as well as external stakeholders such as the Mencap Trust Company and a range of qualified solicitors.

·        Manage, improve, and grow the supporter journeys for all Wills and Trusts service users, reporting on progress.

·        Lead on an annual awareness campaign engaging staff across the organisation.

·        Working with the W&T Manager and Senior Legacy Manager on building a relationship with our Personal Support teams through the roll out of an engagement plan.

What are we looking for in our Senior Wills & Trust Officer?

·        Experience of public speaking in a clear and confident way (E)

·        Experience of project management (E)

·        Experience of improving and executing stewardship journeys(D)

·        Excellent supporter/customer care skills (E)

·        Ability to present emotive material in a clear, compassionate and sensitive way (E)

·        Positive, patient, can-do attitude (E)

It is not essential to have experience within a Charity, but having relevant transferrable skills is imperative.
