Zarach is the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty in England, giving children the opportunity to engage at school and a chance to break the cycle of poverty.
Since we were formed in 2017, and registered as a charity in 2018, we have gone on to provide bed bundles to almost 9,000 children through our partnerships with schools who make referrals to us to support their most vulnerable children.
Our cause and story have captured the nation’s attention, and we have been provided with an incredible national platform that has seen us appear on local and national TV, on radio and in the national press. This has included appearances on BBC Breakfast, Channel 4 News, Radio 5 Live and The Independent newspaper supported our Christmas 2023 appeal, culminating in Zarach being the front-page story on Christmas Day.
In our short history we have received continual funding support from a range of charitable Trusts & Foundations, as a vital part of our overall income and resources mix.
With over 4.3 million children in the UK living in poverty – including 1 million experiencing destitution and around 900,000 living in bed poverty – we have an aspiration to reach more children, in more areas of high need across the country.
To further develop our areas of activity, we are looking for an experienced and successful Trusts & Foundations professional to join our team. We are committed to building our capacity in this area of work so we can look to securing increased income from smaller and larger scale, local and national funders, and via one-off, single-year and multiple-year funding.
We are also wanting to explore opportunities to secure public sector contracts due to the unique engagement we have with families and the signposting support we can provide.

We are looking a motivated and organised individual to play a key role in our work to help keep children safer online. This role will be central to the NSPCC's new strategy of amplifying the voices and experiences of children and young people to help keep them safe online. The role will support the delivery of our new child safety online youth taskforce, as well as supporting other projects across our programme of work. These include work to better utilise Childline insights, deliver participation opportunities through Childline and schools and amplify the voices of children through key events and comms.
Our research found that there are on average 3,500 online child sexual abuse crimes taking place every month, and we've seen an 80% rise in grooming offences since 2017. With the recent passing of the Online Safety Act this is a crucial moment in turning the tide on online harm and abuse. We believe for this to be successful young people must have a voice on what safety online looks like to them.
Young people have been clear: 'Though we may be young, we have a strong opinion on how to keep children safe online'. They have told us that being online is a 'key part of their lives' but they can follow every rule adults set about online safety and still experience harm. Currently, there's a lack of consideration for young people's thoughts and experiences, and how these can be used to drive real change in the online world. We want to change that.

What is the role?
As the Systems and Data Analyst you will play a crucial role in supporting our internal teams by ensuring the integrity, accuracy and accessibility of our data systems. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our teams are able to work effectively by administering, troubleshooting and supporting our data systems and work collaboratively to analyse data, improve systems and provide actionable insights that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
You will work with stakeholders to ensure the provision of accurate and timely reports and be able to analyse the data produced in a meaningful way.
There will also be the opportunity to work on new projects and initiatives to support information and data flow across the hospice.
About you:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting

About The Felix Project
The Felix Project is London's biggest food redistribution charity and the largest end-to-end food redistribution charity in Europe.
Our vision is a London where no one goes hungry and good food is never wasted.
We rescue surplus food from businesses, supermarkets, restaurants and farms. This food is nutritious, in-date, and safe and includes a high proportion of fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. If we did not rescue this food, it would be at risk of going to waste. Instead, we deliver it free of charge to London charities, schools, food banks, COVID food hubs and other organisations serving people in need. Our food is a vital lifeline for children and families, people on low incomes, people who have lost their jobs, the homeless, refugees, domestic abuse survivors, the elderly and keyworkers.

The main purpose of the role is to identify and secure new surplus food supply and develop long-term supply partnerships while growing the relationships we hold with existing suppliers. You will play a big part in ensuring that the charity is successful in achieving its objective to rescue and secure a growing supply of surplus food that will take us to our ambitious future meal targets.

Role Summary:

AKF(UK) Partnerships Officers are part of the Global Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Partnerships team tasked with identifying funding partnerships and strengthening existing ones to support our strategic goals. Partnerships Officers manage a set of grants across a variety of themes and geographies. They also support engagement with European and Asian bilaterals, multilaterals and foundations to secure funding for ten multi-sector not-for-profit and forprofit agencies of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) operating across Asia and Africa. This is all done in close collaboration with field units, global teams, and our partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Grants Management
• Manage a portfolio of grants through regular interface and coordination with AKF(UK)’s partnerships team, AKF(UK)’s programme finance team and relevant AKF/AKDN field units/agencies acting as a central resource for field units in donor best practice.
• Interface with donors about the implementation of ongoing grants to ensure strong, enduring relationships.
• Coordinate, review, and assure the quality of donor deliverables (e.g. work plans, monitoring and evaluation plans, staffing plans, budgets, close-out plans, donor troubleshooting).
• Ensure adherence with donor requirements, rules, and regulations, and that grant deliverables are produced on time and to a high standard.
• Coordinate contractual amendments, changes, and project adaptations, engage with donors in a pro-active and diplomatic way, and flag potential changes (e.g. budget revisions, extensions, risks) in advance to ‘trouble shoot’ and ensure smooth project implementation.
• Facilitate grant monitoring efforts including routine coordination meetings and as needed, support with donor steering committees, donor project visits, and donor monitoring missions.
• Undertake coordination and administrative tasks related to grants and support the maintenance and update of grant management tools and tracking systems (e.g. Award Information Management System (AIMS)).
• Ensure strong relationship cultivation throughout the grants cycle, anticipate, and plan for future funding and project extensions.
Mobilising Funds
• Coordinate and facilitate the development, review and quality assurance of expressions of interest, concept notes, and full proposals for funding opportunities.
• Liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as with donors, partners, and consortia to facilitate project design, align proposal and donor requirements, gather required legal and administrative documentation, and draft sections of proposals as needed.
• Coordinate processes of contracting and negotiation, engaging relevant stakeholders, and ensuring contracts ‘get over the line’ in a timely and efficient way.
• Contribute to management systems, such as AIMS.
Donor engagement and positioning
• Research, scan and source relevant information regarding new donors and partnership opportunities to identify potential funding matches and gather intelligence around European and Asian donors.
Update donor profiles, researching and summarising latest donor strategies and using AIMS to update AKF/AKDN funding summaries.
• Develop positioning materials (e.g. presentations, capability statements, briefs, talking points), collaborating with communications teams, to enable effective donor engagement.
• Guide teams to make informed, effective decisions on which opportunities to pursue (including ‘Go No-Go’ requests).
• Identify and support cultivation of and pre-positioning with partner organisations to form or join consortia focused funding bids.
• Conduct due diligence on new partners in coordination with finance and partnerships teams.
Communicating practical lessons and results
• Engage communications teams to identify opportunities and support the development of content (e.g. social media campaigns, videos) that promote AKF and AKDN’s work and position us as ‘partners of choice’ in the sector.
• Participate in events (e.g. conferences, roundtables, policy forums) to share lessons, innovations and knowledge about our programmes that position us as ‘thought leaders.’
Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Senior Partnerships Manager, Deputy Directors or Regional Director for Europe & Asia.
