Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our Research, Policy & Public Affairs teams are responsible for taking forward the charity's mission and objectives, to develop and influence policy across the UK to deliver the best end-of-life experience for all.

Your role in our mission…
A new partnership has been established between Marie Curie, Macmillan and Race Equality First to launch the End of Life Transformation Programme (Wales). This project aims to fully map the current evidence and experiences of people who have multiple emergency admissions in the last twelve months of life. The project will move on to developing a comprehensive picture of current interventions in place to reduce emergency attendances and then explore the evidence and practical application in Wales of systems in other parts of the UK and Europe.


Working with partners in the health and care system, Cardiff University's Marie Curie Research Centre, policymakers and other key influencers, you will work as part of a team to set out a clear plan for delivering change both nationally and within public services in Wales. On completing the discovery phase of the project, you will work with partners to establish focused test and trial areas to deliver changes to the experiences of people with a terminal illness.

Additional Criteria for Success:
- Use of a wide range of community engagement tools and techniques to effect positive change
- Experience of co-creating research.
- Excellent high level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, analysis, facilitation and presentation skills
- A strong understanding and experience of applied mixed methods research, including quantitative and qualitative.
- Ability to analyse and review evidence sources to produce comprehensive literature reviews.
- An interest in end of life care research.

Salary: - £25,600 - £28,444 per annum pro rata dependent on skills, knowledge and experience

Contract: Two-year Fixed Term Contract, part-time (22.5 hours per week)

Based: Flexible, with offices in Cardiff or Pencoed
