The Yehudi Menuhin School based in Stoke D’Abernon, Cobham is seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Manager to have a significant impact on the lives of our current and future pupils.  The Yehudi Menuhin School operates a needs-blind admissions process, and we remain determined that no pupil should ever turn down a place at YMS due to a lack of funding.  More than 90% of pupils need help to take up their place, and grants from trusts and foundations are a vital source of income for our Bursary Fund, as well as a range of other projects and activities that are of direct benefit to our pupils.

You will join the Development team at an exciting time for the School.  Under new leadership and with pupil numbers at an all-time high, fundraising continues to play a crucial role in securing the future of musical education and helping to develop the next generation of classical musicians.  Our strategy is focused on reaching out to new donors, as well as continuing to engage our loyal body of current supporters, including several engaged grant-making trusts and foundations.

You will build on an existing portfolio of organisations that donate between four and six-figures.  Your ability to develop significant, multi-year relationships with new trusts and foundations will be critical to your success.  The School has also previously secured a grant from the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund, managed by the Arts Council, opening the door to possible future funding from statutory sources, which would also fall under your responsibility.  This is a key role in making The Yehudi Menuhin School’s strategic priorities a reality on the ground.  You will need to be proactive, enterprising and systematic in approaching funders, and be able to engage and manage internal stakeholders.

This is a permanent position, working 9.00am until 5.30pm 4 or 5 days per week.  Some flexibility will be required to attend evening and weekend concerts and events at YMS and in London.

The salary is competitive, based on experience.

As Head of Development, you will be a key member of a small team. The daily rate is negotiable, based on the experience and qualifications of the bid writer. Additionally, there is the possibility of a commission or performance-based incentive for successfully securing large grants. This will be agreed upon in the contract negotiations.

We're looking for:

• Experience of advice work in debt and benefits. Ideally also experience in a wider range of areas - for example, housing, employment, consumer and immigration.
• Ability to work sensitively with a diverse range of clients
• An understanding of the issues involved in interviewing clients, particularly those who may be experiencing stress and anxiety.
• An ordered approach to your work and an ability to follow set procedures concerning casework and file management etc
• Ability to use IT in the provision of advice and the preparation of reports and submissions. 
• Good oral communication skills with particular emphasis on negotiation and representation skills on the telephone. 
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing with particular emphasis on negotiation and representation skills and on preparing grant applications, reviews, reports and correspondence.
• Numeracy skills required to understand statistics and check calculations. 
• Ability to monitor and maintain own work to comply with set standards 
• An understanding of and commitment to the Aims and Principles of the Citizens Advice service including the services Equal Opportunities policies. 
• Ability to work independently without close supervision, to prioritise own work, meet deadlines whilst contributing to the wider Citizens Advice team.

The charity delivers careers information, advice and guidance (IAG) services in ten prisons across Kent, Surrey and East Sussex; supporting prison residents during their stay in custody. 

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Careers Adviser to work at HMP Maidstone & HMP East Sutton Park . The purpose of this role is to provide residents with professional and impartial careers information, advice and guidance;  working with them to develop their motivation and work-related skills in order to enable then to move into employment, education, training, apprenticeship or volunteering on release. 

The role holder will also work with the prison staff to recruit, manage, mentor and support a caseload of peer mentors, delivering inspirational IAG and Employability programmes in both 1:1 and group sessions as required. 

The successful candidate will need to have: 

• An IAG qualification to level 4 or above (for a qualified post); 

• the ability to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients; 

• a non-judgemental attitude with a desire to support people to fulfil their full potential; 

• a high level of organisational skills with good time management.

We are looking for a Community and Events Fundraiser who has these key skills to help us raise vital income for our charity.  You will develop and deliver fundraising initiatives through partnerships with local groups, schools, associations and individuals.  This role will also involve delivering a number of fundraising events so being organised and creative is key and having a marketing focus to ensure maximum success.  No two days are the same and we are looking for someone who can be flexible in their approach and able to multitask effectively. 

You will be based at our purpose built children’s hospice just outside Maidenhead, which provides support to children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families. We would love to hear from talented individuals who want to help us raise the money that we need to make these services available to all families who need them.
