Role Overview:
We are seeking a Social Media Manager to join a prestigious membership association, driving its social media presence and member engagement to new heights. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation’s digital communications remain cutting-edge, engaging, and aligned with its strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
· Positioning the membership association as a leading voice on social media, enhancing its visibility and impact across the UK.
· Developing a unified tone of voice for social media communications, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
· Improving member engagement by refining the membership association’s online presence, fostering a strong sense of community and inclusivity.
· Managing reputational risks on social media by responding effectively to critical or sensitive news, protecting the association’s image.
· Leading a high-performing social media team, overseeing daily operations, and setting ambitious but achievable goals.
· Exploring new platforms and innovative methods to increase the membership association’s reach and enhance engagement.
· Continuously identifying creative ideas to amplify the association’s profile and promote its initiatives effectively.
· Working with colleagues to source and share impactful stories that highlight the membership association’s achievements and contributions.
· Creating and evaluating social media strategies to boost follower engagement and promote meaningful interactions across platforms.
· Offering tailored advice to regional teams to enhance local social media campaigns and activities.
Person Specification
· Proven experience in leading and developing social media strategies for complex organisations.
· Extensive experience in managing and delivering organic social media content, with a strong understanding of paid social media strategies.
· Demonstrated success in creating, delivering, and evaluating impactful social media campaigns.
· Expertise in managing crisis communications, particularly on platforms like Twitter/X.
· Advanced knowledge of content creation and social media technologies across all platforms.
· Knowledge of content development techniques, including content design.
· Experience in using graphic creation tools like Photoshop and Canva, as well as video and audio editing software.
· Resilience and capability to handle crisis management, mitigating reputational risks effectively.
· Excellent technical expertise in social media tools, such as Agora Pulse, and analytics techniques.
· Keen awareness of news trends and the ability to identify opportunities for proactive social media promotion.
· Ability to stay current with emerging trends and techniques in social media.
· Proficiency in content management systems (e.g., Kentico) and email marketing tools (e.g., Dotdigital).
