Are you looking to make a difference in 2025?

We are looking to appoint skilled, passionate fundraising and communications specialists to join our Fundraising & Communications Committee at a very exciting time of growth and change. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of the charity’s development as we seek to leverage our 25th anniversary to grow our brand awareness and sustainable income.

First and foremost, you will have a commitment to improving the lives of children and families and enthusiasm for our work. You will have experience of marketing, communications and/or fundraising and a passion to utilise these skills to enable a small national charity to grow.

We are particularly seeking applicants who have experience in

  • Corporate fundraising
  • Philanthropy
  • Campaign marketing
  • Social media

It is important that you can commit time to read and consider papers and reports, attend meetings and contribute to discussion and decision making. The Committee meet online a minimum of four times a year. There may be other meetings and sessions to attend, usually online but occasionally in person.

This is a voluntary unpaid role, with reasonable expenses paid.

 Purpose of the role

Together with fellow Committee members, you will provide direction and support for the Lifelites Fundraising & Communications team, review annual strategic and tactical plans and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees.

Role description

 Key duties

  1. To monitor and review Lifelites’ strategic plan in ‘income’ and ‘brand’ priorities
  2. To provide input to and oversight of Lifelites’ fundraising strategy, alongside strategic priorities and milestone plan, in order to report progress to the Board of Trustees
  3. To support the fundraising and communications team in developing the annual fundraising plans and budget allocation
  4. To review quarterly KPI dashboard reports and monitor Lifelites’ fundraising performance, key milestones and pipeline.
  5. To evaluate existing fundraising activities, identify emerging trends and explore opportunities for new initiatives.
  6. To support relationship management, represent Lifelites with external funders and make introductions to potential supporters where appropriate
  7. To provide oversight of Lifelites’ communications & marketing strategy, alongside strategic communications priorities and milestone plan, in order to report progress to the Board of Trustees
  8. To support the fundraising and communications team to develop annual communications plans and marketing budget allocations
  9. To receive reports and monitor Lifelites’ communications performance

 Person Specification

  • A strong commitment to the work of Lifelites.
  • Strong experience in marketing, communications and/or fundraising.
  • Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort.
  • Strong strategic thinking.
  • Good, independent judgment.
  • Willingness to articulate opinions whilst understanding the importance of collective responsibility.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to access and use IT including email, video conferencing and Microsoft Office.
