We are a dedicated LGBTQIA+ charity working to promote equality, provide support services, and amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
As a trustee, you will play a crucial role in guiding the charity, ensuring it achieves its objectives, operates legally and ethically, and serves the LGBTQIA+ community effectively.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of the charity’s strategic direction.
- Ensure activities align with the organization’s mission and goals.

Governance:
- Oversee compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory obligations.
- Uphold the charity’s values and promote inclusivity in all activities.

Financial Oversight:
- Ensure robust financial management, approving budgets and monitoring performance.
- Safeguard the charity’s assets and resources.

Advocacy and Representation:
- Act as an ambassador for the charity, representing it to stakeholders, partners, and the public.
- Build networks and foster partnerships to advance the charity’s mission.

Equality and Inclusion:
- Ensure the charity’s work centers on diversity and inclusion, amplifying underrepresented voices within the LGBTQIA+ community.

Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to the charity’s operations, reputation, and stakeholders.
Person Specification
Essential:
- A commitment to the charity’s mission and values.
- Understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing LGBTQIA+ communities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse board.
- Analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate complex issues.
- Willingness to engage in fundraising, advocacy, or community outreach as needed.
Desirable:
- Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Charity governance or board experience.
- Finance, accounting, or fundraising.
- Legal expertise, particularly in nonprofit or equality law.
- Marketing, public relations, or communications.
- Experience working with underrepresented groups within the LGBTQIA+ spectrum (e.g., BIPOC, trans, non-binary, disabled communities).
