About the Choose Love Store

At the Choose Love shop, shoppers purchase practical items like tents, nappies, and sleeping bags. Instead of taking them home, each purchase buys a similar item for someone who truly needs it. Choose Love works with refugees and displaced people all over the world.

The Choose Love store pops up for a month every winter to help ensure the needs of the cold winter months are met in the places where Choose Love is working. The space is bright and uplifting and fosters a feeling of solidarity and connection, providing a welcoming space where people can tangibly support displaced people over the winter months. The Choose Love shop this year will be bigger and better than ever. It’s all top secret for now, but there will be many new components, and due to the amazing location, we expect it to be the busiest year yet.

General Role Description:

The Deputy Store Managers are a key part of the team representing Choose Love in the exciting winter fundraising period. You will support the Store Manager in monitoring and managing the Choose Love store in London. Your primary remit is raising much-needed funds to help Choose Love reach their fundraising target this winter. You will supervise 2 Sales Assistants (each) and engage with customers and volunteers to ensure everyone feels valued and welcomed. It’s not a traditional retail environment - it’s a joyful experience to be in the store, and you’ll help make it memorable.

Alongside the Sales Assistants, you will interact directly with customers at the store, processing card-only donations and answering any questions. You will also need to help coordinate corporate volunteers when they arrive on ‘shift’ and provide them with a thorough training briefing before they begin their shift. You will manage merchandise stock and keep the store looking tidy and slick. 

Shifts:

Choose Love Deputy Store Manager (we require two Deputy Store Managers) Store Manager This is a temporary full-time role between 25 November and 31 December 2025. The contract will be 41.5 hours a week, with the potential option for overtime. This will be conducted on a rota basis, but at least two days off will be given each week. These will be between Monday and Friday, as the weekends are the busiest in the store. Ad hoc evening events will be held throughout the shop’s opening period. No one will be required to work on Christmas Day.
