Penificent is a socially-driven organisation using creativity to inspire and empower young people across the UK. Through comic books, engaging workshops, and community events, we address social issues including financial literacy, mental health, and knife crime, working to create lasting change in the lives of young people.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Charity Photographer and Content Creator to join our team. This role involves documenting Penificent's journey across events, workshops, and community activities, capturing powerful, inspiring moments through photography and short interviews with participants and staff. Your work will be a vital part of sharing our story with the public, helping to inspire support, engagement, and change through authentic, impactful content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event and Workshop Photography: Attend Penificent events and workshops to capture dynamic, engaging photos that showcase our work, mission, and impact.
  • Journey Documentation: Capture behind-the-scenes moments during travel to and from events, giving audiences an inside look at Penificent’s journey.
  • Interviews with Participants and Staff: Conduct and record short, informal interviews with workshop participants and Penificent team members to capture personal experiences and insights.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality images suitable for social media, website, and promotional materials, ensuring they reflect Penificent’s mission and tone.
  • Creative Direction: Collaborate with our social media and marketing team to align visual content with our brand vision and upcoming campaigns.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in photography, especially event or documentary photography (portfolio required).
  • Strong storytelling ability through visuals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for participant interviews.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic event environments.
  • A passion for social issues, community work, and youth development.
  • Familiarity with photo editing software.
