Job description

Corona Kids CIC Director (Volunteer)

Corona Kids CIC is a Non for Profit, Social Enterprise on a mission to improving the lives of children and young people with a close family member involved in the criminal justice system.

Our aim is to establish a community of skilled professionals and care givers who recognise that losing a parent or significant other to prison can be a traumatic experience for children and young people affected. Through our training and projects, we aim to raise awareness of the needs of this vulnerable group.

To achieve our future goals, we are seeking a third Director enthusiastic about reaching children and young people affected by family member imprisonment.

As one of 3 Directors you will be part of a team that will secure the future success and sustainability of Corona Kids projects.

 What are we looking for:

Someone with proven experience in leadership roles, particularly but not exclusively with non-for-profit organisations. Someone with experience of securing funding such as grants, or corporate funding would be desirable.

Someone willing to dedicate some of their time, energy, and resources to developing actionable social impact projects that will make a difference to the lives of children with families involved in the Criminal Justice System.

What we will offer You:

·        An opportunity to be part of a team amplifying the voice of children and young people affected by imprisonment and helping to deliver change that positively affects their short- and long-term potential.

  • An opportunity to help shape, develop and promote the important work of this social enterprise.
  • An opportunity to undertake training to prepare you for this voluntary role.

When would you be needed:

We are looking for someone that can commit a few hours per week to this role. The days/hours are open to discussion and will be mutually agreed upon. The work will be home based with occasional in person Networking /Directors meetings.

Reference required: Yes. We will ask for two-character references, (this can be a former employer or someone who knows you well …other than a relative)

Safeguarding and DBS requirements for your role: Corona Kids CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks will be required for relevant posts.

Corona Kids CIC values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
