Job description

In this role, you will manage a caseload of clients, many of whom have experienced homelessness, addiction, or involvement in the criminal justice system. You will provide tailored employability advice, one-to-one support, and deliver workshops aimed at helping clients develop the skills and confidence they need to rebuild their lives.

You’ll support with our LEAP project, providing a crucial stepping stone for clients in the early stages of recovery. By collaborating with partner agencies and working alongside our Peer Navigators, you’ll ensure clients receive the comprehensive support they need.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete initial assessments, risk assessments and risk management plans ensuring a high standard of case management.
  • Work with a caseload of people who have experience of homelessness, addiction, and/or the criminal justice system that want to improve their chances at moving into training, education and employment.
  • Provide employability advice and a range of interventions with the aim of supporting them to improve their employability, access training, volunteering, and move towards employment.
  • Lead on and develop the Good Shepherd structured volunteering programme for people in early stages of their recovery journey.
  • Work with Peer Navigators from our LEAP team to provide additional support.
  • Signpost and make referrals to external agencies and build positive working relationships with partner agencies across the city.
  • Deliver one to one’s, workshops and group sessions.
  • Collect, collate, and interpret data that is required to report on the outcomes achieved through this work.
  • Record and update service user activity in line with GS Confidentiality Policy.
  • Maintain a high level of professional boundaries in line with GS Safeguarding Policy.
  • Observe all Health and Safety regulations related to the role and comply with GS Policies and Procedures.
