Job description

PLEASE NOTE: This role is only needed for the Christmas period for our festive Health & Wellbeing days.

You will need to have your GDC number and an electronic copy of your PLI to hand in order to apply

You will contribute to ending homelessness by

You will provide basic dental health advice and education to our guests. Unfortunately we will not able to offer guests full dental procedures as we do not have the necessary facilities, but hope people will leave better informed on how to maintain better oral health.

You will be volunteering at our Health & Wellbeing Day(s). These events are an opportunity for members to access a range of health & wellbeing services from the safety and comfort of our Skylight. All treatments are clothed. 

You will be part of a specialist volunteer team which may include: Hairdressers, Masseuses, Physiotherapists and GPs. 

Our training will show you what to expect when running sessions and the type of sessions that work best for our guests.

Core tasks

Your tasks may include: 

  • Offering dental information and advice  
  • Encouraging guests to seek dental treatment as required

  • Qualified dentists and dental nurses

  • We expect volunteers to comply with Crisis policies including health and safety, data protection and code of conduct at all times  
  • To maintain the privacy and confidentiality of all accessible information about guests and the organisation  
  • Be positive, productive and have the passion to help end homelessness  
  • We strive to ensure that our services are welcoming, remain relevant and are fully accessible to everyone that we help and support.  
  • We are particularly welcoming of volunteers from diverse and other marginalised communities, as this helps us ensure the best experience for those that we are here to help.  
  • People who have lived experience of homelessness are also particularly welcome to apply.
