Construction Youth Trust is a forward-thinking charity whose mission is to help young people reach their full potential and take their first steps towards a rewarding working life. We prepare young people for the world of work, support them to build their skills and confidence and connect them with opportunities and employers aligned with their abilities and interests.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our dynamic Board of Trustees to support the strategic growth and development of the Trust and to strengthen the Board in the specific areas of safeguarding and community development. 

Time Commitment

You will attend quarterly Full Board meetings (Half day, face-to-face in London during working hours).

Once established, there may be opportunity to join our Resources & Governance and Nominations committees, who also meet quarterly but typically online for 1-3 hour meetings. For candidates with significant safeguarding experience there may also be opportunity to support the Safeguarding Team, who meet quarterly, typically online. 

What are we looking for?

We are particularly seeking additional skills/experiences in one or more of these areas:

  • Significant safeguarding knowledge & experience, ideally with online with the responsibility of a safeguarding lead
  • Lived experience or good knowledge of the barriers facing the young people we work with
  • Good knowledge, experience or networks in community groups/charities supporting CYT beneficiaries

No previous trustee experience is required, just a passion for championing social mobility and unlocking the career potential of young people.
