Qube, through it's Dial-a-Ride service provides door to door transport for people without access to public transport or a car, for the people of Oswestry and the surrounding area.
We offer members the opportunity to access our Community Car service, where our volunteer drivers use their own cars to transport members, for example to social visits and medical appointments.
Our Community Car drivers are:
• Professional at all times, upholding the values of Qube and Dial-a-Ride.
• Enthusiastic with a ‘can do’ attitude.
• Honest, reliable and a good time keeper.
• Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the Dial-a-Ride service.
• Have a good knowledge of the road networks in and around the town of Oswestry and surrounding area. Live within surrounding area of Oswestry.
What we ask of Community Car drivers:
• A full and clean driving licence.
• That you have your own road worthy vehicle, which is clean and presentable for our members to access.
• Have car insurance allowing you to drive as a volunteer driver for Dial-a-Ride.
• You wear Dial-a-Ride identification at all times.
• You agree to provide references for the role.
• You agree to undertake a DBS check.
Additional information
We offer an initial taster session with our transport officer, following registration, and then, if appropriate, a four week/journey trial period which is reviewed for future progression. Travel expenses will be paid at the rate of 45p per mile.
