Senior Project Manager - People & Organisational Development

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is looking for a dynamic and strategic Senior Project Manager to join our People & Organisational Development (POD) team for a fixed-term contract until the end of March 2026. This is your chance to be at the forefront of our HR transformation, helping us become a skills-based organisation and creating an outstanding People Experience.
As the Senior Project Manager - People & Organisational Development, you'll lead the delivery of our Future Fit Project, a strategic programme that unifies our Talent Strategy, People Practices & Systems, and Strategic Workforce Planning. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, using agile methodologies to manage and deliver large-scale projects that align with BHF's objectives and strategy.
You’ll also support on other POD projects as required, reflecting the need for the team to respond with agility and flexibility to changing demands.
Key responsibilities include:
- leading and managing diverse projects to deliver an outstanding People Experience
- supporting internal stakeholders in solving complex HR challenges
- overseeing budgets, resourcing, and engagement activities
- ensuring projects meet objectives in terms of time, cost, quality, and business benefits
- collaborating with POD colleagues and external partners to deliver agreed outcomes
- championing excellent project management and business change best practices
About you
You are a strategic thinker with hands-on project management experience, ideally with qualifications in PRINCE2 and Agile. You have a knack for building effective working relationships and are effortlessly organised. Your communication skills, both written and verbal, are top-notch, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in managing HR projects related to Talent, Skills, Job Architecture is essential. Experience with Workday implementation is highly desirable.
To be successful in this role you will:
- have previous experience of managing projects, involving a high degree of stakeholder engagement and change
- have experience of business process mapping
- have worked with a breadth of HR processes & systems, teams and colleagues
- be solutions focused
- be able to handle multiple projects and activities concurrently

Working arrangements
Please note this is a fixed term contract until the end of March 2026.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.
At the BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Interview process
First stage interviews will be held over Microsoft Teams Friday 25th April, with second stage interviews taking place in person, at our London offices on Thursday 1st May.
