Fundraising and Communications Officer

OpenSight is a leading charity in Hampshire focused on reducing isolation, encouraging independence, and providing access to a wide range of social and practical support. Our objectives include offering tailored support to all age groups, from children to the elderly, and ensuring that our services help overcome social, educational, and mobility barriers. Our services empower people with a vision impairment to engage fully in their communities and live with greater confidence.

Are you a creative and motivated individual with a passion for making a difference? OpenSight is looking for a Fundraising and Communications Officer to help grow our voluntary income, strengthen donor engagement, and raise awareness of our vital services for people with sight loss.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and develop fundraising initiatives, events, and partnerships
• Build relationships with donors, businesses, and community groups
• Create engaging content for newsletters, social media, and press releases
• Manage OpenSight’s social media channels and liaise with local media
• Support and engage fundraising volunteers
• Represent OpenSight at community and networking events

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in fundraising, communications, or a related role within the charity sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and social media platforms
• A proactive and collaborative approach

Desirable: Experience in event management, donor stewardship, marketing, or CRM systems.
