Director of Public Income & Engagement
As part of its’ transformation journey, RNIB is seeking an experienced and strategic public fundraising leader for this newly established Director of Public Income & Engagement role.
With strong leadership support and a clear vision for growth, you’ll have a platform to shape and embed new ways of working, develop innovative fundraising approaches and align engagement strategies with RNIB’s broader social change agenda. This is an integral position within the new strategy and structure that will drive the transformation and growth of public fundraising, ensuring sustainable income to support RNIB’s vital work for blind and partially sighted individuals.
This is a pivotal moment of change for RNIB, with a strategic shift towards innovation and engagement. As Director of Public Income & Engagement, you will lead a team of 25 professionals (4 direct reports) to oversee a diverse portfolio while enabling income growth and deepened supporter engagement.
With responsibility for growing the income portfolio to £60m+ across Individual Giving, Legacy and Supporter-Led Fundraising, this is a unique opportunity to shape the future of public income and engagement at RNIB working alongside a talented and ambitious team to deliver impact at scale.
About the role:

Strategic Leadership: leading the transformation of public fundraising, embedding an agile, innovative and insight-led approach.

Income Growth & Diversification: developing strategies to expand income beyond £60m, across legacy, individual giving and supporter-led income streams.

Product Development & Innovation: enhancing and expanding RNIB’s fundraising product portfolio, ensuring alignment with supporter needs/interests and market opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: working closely with marketing, brand and digital teams to ensure an integrated approach to supporter engagement and audience growth.

Team Development: leading, mentoring and building a high-performing team, establishing a culture of innovation and collaboration that enable fundraising growth and enhanced supporter experience.
About you:

A commercially minded and visionary leader, with proven expertise in transforming and scaling public fundraising, and experience of managing individual giving income budgets of £10m+.

Extensive leadership expertise, managing and developing high-performing teams to achieve ambitious targets.

Experience in leading organisational change, particularly in the context of integrating marketing, brand, and digital functions within engagement and fundraising.

Strong budgetary expertise and financial acumen, with experience managing large-scale budgets and income targets.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships that support team strategies and objectives.
Salary c.£90,000
London with hybrid working (1-2dpw in the office)
