About Ovarian Cancer Action
Ovarian Cancer Action is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer research charity, working on early detection, prevention and treatments so that no woman dies of ovarian cancer. We’re a community of changemakers with one purpose: to give ovarian cancer the focus it needs to increase 10-year survival rates. And we know research is the solution.
We live and breathe this lifesaving, world-leading research. We fund more ovarian cancer research than any other UK gynaecological cancer charity. It’s how we’ve driven some of the biggest breakthroughs of the last 19 years.
We’re also the only charity at the heart of the global ovarian cancer research community and have been for four decades.
By connecting the world’s leading scientists together, we’re creating a powerful hub of experience, expertise and insight.
About the role
Our goal is clear: by 2032, at least half of women diagnosed with ovarian cancer will live beyond ten years. But to achieve this, we need to drive greater investment in research and expand awareness, and that’s where the Fundraising and Communications Committee plays a vital role.
As a co-opted committee member, you will apply your knowledge to help shape our fundraising and communications strategy, ensuring that we make the greatest possible impact. You will help provide support, challenge, and strategic guidance while sharing insight into how we can improve donor engagement and income diversification.
Who we are looking for
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for experienced professionals with a background in fundraising. If you have a proven track record in Trusts, Grants, Foundations, major donor fundraising, and corporate partnerships, your skills will help drive our progress.
Your experience in income generation within the charity sector and developing compelling fundraising strategies will make a tangible difference to the future of ovarian cancer research.
Your ability to offer constructive challenge and contribute to decision-making will be invaluable in ensuring Ovarian Cancer Action’s continued growth and effectiveness.
Furthermore, your ability to analyse opportunities, solve problems, and advise on best practices in the sector will be key to our success.
