Explorer Belt Team Leader
About the role
The Explorer Belt Team Lead plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering one of the UK’s most prestigious international programmes for young people. Reporting to the Global Programme Team Lead, this role ensures alignment with global Scouting priorities while driving the development, delivery, and sustainability of the Explorer Belt programme.
As a key member of the UK International Team, the Explorer Belt Team Lead collaborates with a range of stakeholders to enhance the Explorer Belt’s impact and relevance. This role oversees the strategic review, quality assurance, and promotion of the Explorer Belt, ensuring it continues to provide transformative personal development and cultural exploration experiences for young people.
The position requires a dynamic and innovative leader who is passionate about global engagement and youth development. They will inspire and support volunteers, promote cross-cultural understanding, and champion the Explorer Belt as a cornerstone of the UK’s international Scouting efforts.
Key tasks
- Lead the strategic delivery and development of the Explorer Belt programme to ensure its relevance and appeal to young people.
- Oversee the review and enhancement of the programme, including stakeholder engagement and implementation of improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including WOSM, the European Scout Region, Local Programme Teams, to align the Explorer Belt with global Scouting priorities.
- Inspire and support a team of volunteers to deliver the programme effectively, ensuring high-quality experiences for participants.
- Promote the Explorer Belt within The Scout Association, raising awareness of its value and impact among members and leaders.
- Develop resources, guidance, and training materials to support delivery teams and participants.
- Monitor and evaluate the success of the programme, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Act as an ambassador for the Explorer Belt, advocating its role in fostering cultural understanding, personal development, and global citizenship.
- Work closely with the UK International Leadership Team to integrate the Explorer Belt within broader international Scouting strategies.
- Ensure all activities adhere to The Scout Association’s policies, safeguarding standards, and risk management practices.
