International Relations Team Leader
About the role
The International Relations Team Leader plays a vital role in supporting The Scout Association’s global engagement. This role provides day-to-day support of international relations, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s vision and strategic priorities.
As Team Leader, you will strengthen partnerships across international networks, including World Organisation of the Scout Movement / European Region volunteers, specialised groups, and campaigns, while amplifying the organisation’s influence within key Scouting communities such as the Commonwealth and religious or political networks.
You will coordinate impactful international campaigns and initiatives, mentor and support members of the team, and foster collaboration with groups like Friends of Scouting in Europe.
This position requires a leader with exceptional collaboration and communication skills, a passion for fostering meaningful relationships, and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and interfaith dialogue.
Key tasks
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of international relations, ensuring alignment with The Scout Association’s vision and strategic priorities.
- Coordinate international campaigns and initiatives, ensuring effective planning, execution, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead and mentor the International Representation Team members, supporting members in their global representation roles.
- Strengthen partnerships within key networks, including the Commonwealth, Friends of Scouting in Europe, and other specialised groups.
- Act as a liaison for religious and political networks, promoting inclusivity, interfaith dialogue, and mutual understanding.
- Provide guidance and support to UK members of Team Purple, fostering their meaningful engagement in global Scouting.
- Build and maintain relationships with international organisations and stakeholders to enhance The Scout Association’s influence within the Scouting movement.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to align international activities with broader organisational goals.
- Promote and advocate for the UK’s role within international Scouting communities, ensuring recognition and influence.
- Monitor and evaluate international engagement activities, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
Whilst this role will support the Chief Volunteer for International with with international relationships, it doesn’t necessarily mean the role holder will attend international events.
