The Woodland Trust is looking for a Learning & Development Partner to deliver impactful initiatives that grow, inspire and enable our colleagues.

The Role:

  • You will serve as an expert Learning and Development Partner for assigned departments, providing comprehensive advice throughout the learning cycle.
  • You will lead the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of our learning programmes, collaborating with stakeholders and subject matter experts to create a holistic and effective learning plan.
  • You will ensure high-quality, inclusive, and cost-effective learning interventions are aligned with our organisational values.
  • You'll coach senior leaders and line managers and co-develop learning offers that align with career development pathways and future skill needs.
  • You will provide learning consultancy advice for organisational change programmes and commission value-for-money interventions from external providers
  • You will lead projects to implement new learning frameworks and processes, collaborating with internal teams to design engaging communications, monitoring sector trends, and reviewing internal processes.
  • This role includes a mix of working from home, at our main office in Grantham, Lincolnshire, and visiting sites across the UK. We envisage that travel to Grantham and other sites will be required 2 or 3 times per month.

The Candidate:

  • You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values—Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count
  • You are a strategic individual who will collaborate with key stakeholders to proactively identify and cultivate the skills and knowledge essential for achieving the Trust’s goals.
  • You design and deliver impactful learning interventions across the entire development cycle, inspiring and enabling colleagues to thrive.
  • You will have the skills to navigate the complexities of our organisation, pinpointing current and future learning needs while building effective partnerships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Your expertise in learning and development will support major technology and systems transformations, tailoring your approach to various audiences with an understanding of diverse learning styles.
  • If you are adept at prioritising for impact, connecting initiatives to the bigger picture, and fostering continuous improvement, we want to hear from you.
  • You will have a coaching accreditation, CIPD membership or a related HR or Learning and Development qualification.
This role requires travel around the UK, so you need to have a clean UK driving licence.

Benefits & Wellbeing: Joining our team means you'll be a big part of tackling environmental and climate issues. We take good care of our staff, offering support and training opportunities. We also offer:

  • Enhanced Employer Pension
  • Life Assurance
  • Flexible & Hybrid Working Options
  • Generous Annual Leave
  • Enhanced Parental Pay

About Us: The Woodland Trust is the UK's leading woodland conservation charity and is dedicated to creating a world where trees and woods thrive for both people and nature. Our mission involves engaging and inspiring individuals to contribute toward tackling the nature and climate crisis through the protection, restoration, and creation of essential woodland habitats.

Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion: To achieve our vision of a world where woods and trees thrive for people and nature, we need to better reflect society and the communities we work in. All people, no matter their background, identity, ability, or circumstance, should benefit from trees.
People of colour and disabled people are currently under-represented across the environment and conservation sector. If you identify as a person of colour and/or disabled, we particularly encourage you to apply.
