Volunteer Role Description
Community Champion Volunteer
Responsible to: Volunteer Coordinator
Time commitment: 8 hours per month to involve some weekend & evening work.
Location: Various Locations in Flintshire and Wrexham (Based within the local vicinity of where you live).
Main Purpose:
The Community Champion role is to support North East Wales Mind to expand the reach and profile of the charity, to increase our active presence and spread our message within the community in both fundraising and engagement capacity in your local area of Flintshire and Wrexham.
To attend fundraising and awareness events as a representative of North East Wales Mind and to help raise funding through interaction with the public, by sharing you experience for Mental Health illness and asking for donations. Through attending these events and where relevant signpost people to mental health support services within North East Wales Mind and if appropriate, to other statutory and voluntary organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the vision, aim and purpose of North East Wales Mind by embedding these principles within your role and to help ensure an inclusive and diverse environment for all at North East Wales Mind.
· Share your story of Lived experience, to help promote our services and help shape the future of our services.
· Promote the work and profile of North East Wales Mind within the community.
· Attend public events within the community and be a representative for the charity.
· Actively encourage monetary donations to the charity.
· Respond to public enquiries through verbal and written communications.
· Talk knowledgeably about North East Wales Mind and mental health to anyone visiting our stand at various events and confidently signpost people to appropriate help when required.
· Distribute information, leaflets, and collection tins as and when needed.
· Be responsible for North East Wales Mind assets at an event e.g. charity collection tins, displays and banners.

· Certificate of completion after six months volunteering for us.
· References for future employers on successful completion of six months volunteering for us.
· Access to Employment Assistance Programme and Clinical Supervision.
· Regular social and team building events with other staff and volunteers.
· Reasonable expenses including mileage to and from an event.
