About Us

Our host organization are a federated movement of 46 charities, supported by a central charity, the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. Together they have 870,000 members, 38,000 volunteers and 3,400 staff across the UK. They are at an exciting moment in their 110-year history, with the development of an ambitious new strategy, setting out a vision of nature in recovery, with abundant, diverse wildlife and natural processes creating wilder landscapes where people and nature thrive.

Collectively, The Wildlife Trusts have more than 900,000 members, employ 3,500 staff, look after over 2,300 nature reserves, operate 123 visitor and education centres and own 29 working farms. They undertake research, they stand up for wildlife and wild places under threat, and they help people access nature.

The next few years will be critical in determining what kind of world we will all live in. We need to reverse the loss of wildlife and put nature into recovery at scale as a matter of urgency if we are to prevent climate and ecological disaster. This will require big, bold changes in the way we think and operate, and the development of a strong, collaborative culture. It will require key stakeholders and the public to take action for nature’s recovery.

About You

Our client are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic data insights manager to help them make the most of their existing data across The Trusts, alongside developing new innovations to improve understanding of their supporters, their contribution to nature’s recovery and the values that the public place on nature.

They are looking for a skilled data specialist to help to draw together and take forward data insights work across The Trusts. Working directly to the Director for Climate Change and Evidence, the postholder will lead on and manage our existing large-scale data insights projects, including the Great Big Nature Survey (the largest UK-wide survey of nature values); oversee the analysis of internal data collected across the federation of Trusts; and undertake data analysis of external impact, from brand awareness to major public engagement programmes such as 30 Days’ Wild. In addition, the postholder will lead a new programme of work on how to better understand the impact, and support the coordination of data activities across relevant teams within the Trusts.

The Trusts value passion, respect, trust, integrity, pragmatic activism and strength in diversity. Whilst they are passionate in promoting their aims, they are not judgemental and are inclusive. They particularly encourage applications from people who are underrepresented within their sector, including people from minority backgrounds and people with disabilities. They are committed to creating a movement that recognises and truly values individual differences and identities.

Our client take their Safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously. Please read their commitment statement available in the documents section.

They are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults at risk. For applicable roles, applicants must be willing to undergo checks with past employers and Disclosure and Barring Service checks at the eligible level.

Our client are committed to increasing the diversity of its staff through its Levelling the Field recruitment pledge and will put any ethnic minority applicants that meet all the essential criteria for the post through to the next stage of recruitment.
