Job description

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and nongovernmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

IOM works to unleash the potential of migration by assisting States to establish, expand and enhance regular migration pathways. Facilitating regular pathways is a strategic priority for IOM and is central to achieving IOM’s vision of delivering on the promise of migration.

Working across a global footprint, IOM prepares individuals arriving through resettlement and other safe and regular pathways for their successful integration in the UK through tailored pre-departure and post arrival activities.

This post will have responsibility to work innovatively and in partnership with a range of stakeholders to identify opportunities to make existing and new regular pathways to the UK accessible and inclusive enabling more individuals to benefit from opportunities for regular migration.

This post will specifically set up operational frameworks, initiate, innovate and coordinate  the implementation of existing projects on family reunion, community sponsorship and other complementary/regular pathways, including the Afghan Resettlement Schemes, UK Resettlement and Integration projects, and skills-based mobility schemes for vulnerable and displaced individuals.

Under the overall guidance of the Senior Programme Coordinator, the direct supervision of the National Resettlement and Complementary Pathways officer; in close coordination with the Head of Operations,  and relevant IOM missions worldwide the incumbent will work on new partnerships and proposals keeping abreast of policy developments and provide specialised thematic support in the area of Pathways and Integration with a particular focus on pre-departure labour market integration initiatives, community sponsorship, regular pathways and family reunion.
