• Developing and implementing a fundraising strategy, to support CACT strategic objectives
• Leading a skilled multi-disciplinary team, including bid-writing, marketing and communications, to achieve agreed goals and added value
• Securing and profiling high-level individual donors/groups/companies, evidenced through robust and sustainable partnerships, which result in substantial financial returns to CACT
• Strengthening other approaches to fundraising, including regular giving and legacy donating 
• Analysing CACT’s approach to bid-writing, with other senior leaders, re-purposing to maximise grant income and programme delivery aligned to our strategic priorities
• Achieving financial income targets, specifically meeting stretch unrestricted income targets
• Actively participating in strategic policy development at CACT, as a member of the Senior Management Team

The TSA is seeking a highly experienced, confident and capable Head of Fundraising to provide leadership and direction on all aspects of income generation. Head of Fundraising responsibilities 

Strategic, leadership and management 

• Provide leadership for fundraising and income generation across the TSA team. Attend regular strategy meetings and be a leading voice in shaping the TSA’s income generation activities 

• Lead in the development, implementation and review of fundraising polices and strategy ensuring they are in line with the overall organisation business plan 

• Provide line management for the Fundraising Manager and Grants and Trusts Manager, including regular meetings and ensuring that the fundraising team are fulfilling all areas of their roles, meeting agreed KPI’s and achieving set income targets 

• Lead on the annual business planning and budget cycle for the income generation 

• Effectively collect and analyse data to demonstrate income trends, the impact of fundraising and income generation. Use this data to inform quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees, determine the impact of the team’s work and drive continual improvements in policy and practice 

• Attend and actively contribute to weekly TSA team meetings 

Income Generation and partnership 

• Lead on all income generation activities, with a focus on developing new fundraising initiatives for corporate giving, major donor fundraising, legacy giving and TSA appeals 

• Develop and deliver short and long-term fundraising and partnership strategy for the TSA. Ensure that the TSA has a balanced portfolio, and the fundraising team successfully delivers income across multiple streams

• Working closely with the Joint Chief Executives and Grants and Trusts Manager, expand the TSA’s range of research funding sources to include public, academic, commercial and innovation funding alongside investment from the TSA itself 

• Accurately forecast and monitor against income generation targets 

• Identify opportunities to work with partners on areas of common interest where the TSA can achieve more through joint funding, gifts in kind (such as time or services) or delivering joint projects than the charity could do by working alone 

• Ensure the TSA’s fundraising policies, procedures are up to date and that all fundraising activities comply with law and the Fundraising Regulator guidelines 

• Continue to maintain established, and develop new relationships with potential fundraising supporters and partners across all sectors 

Marketing and communications responsibilities 

• Work closely with the communications team to develop inspiring fundraising campaigns, appeals, cases for support and content for distribution across all digital platforms,including social media, e-newsletters and Scan magazine, website and fundraising platforms 

• Continue to strengthen our supporter engagement plans to identify and build excellent working relationships that leads to increase income 

General responsibilities 

• Adhere to all TSA policies, procedures, values and behaviours 

• Comply with all internal and external Health and Safety requirements and complete Risk Assessments as appropriate

As Head of Marketing, you will lead on the implementation of marketing strategies that contribute to Care Home-facing activity as well as broader strategic plans. With ambitious growth targets, marketing activity will be focused around increasing channel subscribers and building long-term relationships with care homes.

Main responsibilities within the role will include:
· Creating a well-defined and focused marketing plan to enable the effective delivery of organisational vision and strategy for growth

About the Role

We are recruiting a new Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our team. This is a mid-senior level position in the organisation, reporting to the Deputy Head of Business Development. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a Business Development Manager role (please see person specification below) within a cutting edge and growing international social development organisation. As a Business Development manager, you will identify and win new opportunities for the company. You will ensure and facilitate efficient bid development processes working closely with technical team colleagues, as well as finance, HR and programmes teams, to produce high-quality bids in a timely manner.

Business Development – Portfolio Management

· BD Lead on specific technical portfolios, acting as a liaison between the BD team and the technical team to proactively identify, track and win work in that technical area.

· Maintain accurate reporting of all sales activity.

· Manage a pipeline of opportunities.

· Attend donor market meetings (e.g. Early Market Engagement meetings) for relevant bids, engage in donor consultation and network with others as appropriate.

· Convene decision makers to make swift and informed decisions whether to bid or not.

· Lead on pre-positioning work to identify partners, team members and develop our approach (in collaboration with other colleagues) for new opportunities.

· Negotiate consortium roles on bids and develop a teaming agreement to reflect that.

· Lead on our response (with input from relevant colleagues) to direct approaches from clients to provide consultancy and research services.

· Regularly meet existing partners/clients to develop and maintain relationships and to proactively identify opportunities for further joint working.

· Develop relationships with potential new partners and clients.

· Play an active role in building and maintaining relationships with SDDirect’s Associates and network of consultants.

· Own and develop marketing materials that showcase portfolio work.

Bid Production

· Lead on and be responsible for technical and commercial proposal development (including budget), working closely with colleagues from our technical, project management and finance teams. For large bids, the technical and commercial roles may be performed by two people, though the technical lead will retain responsibility for the whole process.

· Produce job descriptions/terms of reference for specific roles on new programmes.

· Use company resources and networks as well as own contacts to identify and contract consultants.

· Agree and document all terms in-line with BD process.

· Ensure compliance requirements for each bid are in place, e.g. data protection, due diligence etc.

· Capture and share learning from tenders under areas of responsibility.

· Review contracts for work won against the contract checklist.

· Deliver handover to the Programmes Team for seamless mobilisation.

Communications

· Contribute to internal action to strengthen SDDirect as an organisation through participation in meetings, working groups and other fora.

System and Process 

· Support the continuous improvement of BD Team performance.

· Actively participate in development of the BD Team annual workplan and objectives, taking a lead on agreed sections.

· Actively contribute to the development of BD Team systems and processes, proactively improving them where necessary.

About the Role:

This fundraiser will work closely with senior academics in the Humanities Division. The post will focus primarily on funding for posts, scholarships and access and outreach in the academic faculties. An interest and appreciation for the arts and humanities is essential.

To Be Successful You’ll Need:

• To be an experienced development professional with a strong track record of securing major gifts and the ability to secure gifts in the range of £100k-£1m+

Purpose of post
In 2022, IMO decided to develop deep and focused youth employment programming
to address the significant need in our community. To deliver this, we are partnering
with Impetus. The new programme supports young people from South Asian
backgrounds to bolster their opportunities for sustained education, employment and
training (EET) by providing 1:1 mentoring, family engagement and practical experience.

We are excited to recruit a leader for this programme, to develop it beyond the initial
pilot phase into a long-term, sustainable provision, build and manage local
partnerships, work with others to develop a long-term funding model, and ultimately
to support young people in securing and sustaining employment.

This is an exciting and new type of work for IMO Charity, and we are looking for
someone to take it forward. It is a strategic priority, sits on the Senior Management
Team, and will report directly to the CEO.

What we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced, inspiring leader who can utilise our assets with the
local community, working with the existing team and local partners to take our exciting
new employment programme for disadvantaged young people in Blackburn with
Darwen into its next phase of development and generate meaningful long-term
outcomes.

Successful candidates will bring extensive front-line experience with a similar target
demographic; strong management, planning and communication skills and will offer a
high level of initiative and a common-sense approach to working.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and line management

• Work with CEO and other SMT members in leading the wider organisation in 1:1 and Senior Management Team meetings
• Lead on recruitment, selection and induction of new mentors
• Line managing, motivating and training mentors
• Be an ambassador for IMO, including by role-modelling its values, promoting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and being a visible senior leader
• Programme design and development
• Lead on strategic planning - design, development and implementation of all pillars of the Youth
• Employment programme (mentoring, family engagement and practical experience)
• Building on the initial pilot phase, determine the scope, targets and KPIs for programme over the next 3 years
• Develop all key elements of the programme including but not limited to outreach and partnerships, curriculum, quality assurance, impact management, financial resourcing
• Work with the IMO team to adapt and build on existing IMO delivery practices, and work closely with members of the wider organisation to ensure the new programme operates efficiently within all other activities

Programme management and delivery

• Oversee the delivery of further cohorts of the IMO’s youth employment programme including:

        - Ensuring provision of high-quality, consistent delivery of all pillars
        - High-impact, meaningful opportunities sourced and scheduled to meet the needs of
          individual young people
       - Effective monitoring, evaluation and reporting

• Management of delivery staff by way of:

        - Supervising and developing delivery staff both individually and as a group
        - Managing schedules and workload
        - Problem solving any delivery issues with the relevant parties e.g. schools,
          young people and families

• Build and contribute to a culture of impact management by:

        - Maintaining and monitoring systems & KPIs to facilitate regular impact management reviews
          which gather useful and relevant data to improve programme delivery
        - Conducting regular programme reviews with the relevant team members to evaluate delivery
          and impact and make required changes to the programme
        - Report updates and relevant impact data to the team internally as well as to the board,
          external partners and other stakeholders on a regular basis

• Act as the point of contact for existing partners, strengthening & maximising relationships, dealing with day-to-day enquiries and escalating issues to the CEO when necessary
• Ensure that employer partners are well prepared to support potential candidates, including by educating them about any specific challenges and clearly aligning expectations on all sides

Develop sustainable funding model

• Support CEO to develop a sustainable funding model required to deliver IMO’s youth employment programme. This will include working with the team to conduct a review of costs to deliver an effective programme over the next 3 years
• Contribute to an income generation strategy for the youth employment programme

Wider organisational responsibilities

• Work to identify and incorporate youth voice into IMO’s work, including by encouraging candidates to share their stories, challenges and feedback on our services
• Help to secure and create case studies and other content for IMO’s social media channels, website and blogs that communicates the charity’s objectives, activities, impact and contributes to raising the profile of the charity
