We seek a dynamic leader with excellent interpersonal skills to join our team as Head of Partnerships and Placements on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis. The ideal candidate must excel in building and sustaining partnerships, managing strategic projects, and leading a team to achieve significant results.

You will be allocating 500 placements for Approach Social Work participants and recruiting leaders for and sell other Frontline programmes or services. This is directly linked to achieving Frontline’s organisational objective of having 4,000 impactful Fellows by 2025, who will create social change for children without a safe or stable home.

A little bit about you 

The ideal candidate will be an experienced account management and sales professional, skilled in setting and achieving demanding sales targets. We are looking for someone with a strong track record in managing complex projects, leveraging external stakeholder relationships, and and balancing different needs. With excellent people management skills, you will balance support and challenge, and be adept at using data and CRM systems to manage relationships and generate insights.

We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust UK is seeking a creative and experienced Communications Officer to join our team for up to 14 months as maternity cover, beginning in September 2024. This is a varied role, through which the postholder will be a part of our small team in the UK. The role is on-site, based at the charity’s office in Billingshurst, West Sussex. 

WHO WE ARE:

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has worked for over 47 years to protect wildlife and habitats in Kenya. Its projects include Anti-Poaching, Veterinary Intervention, Aerial Operations, Habitat Protection, Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation, and the rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned elephants, rhinos, and other wild species, all working towards a sustainable future for wildlife and communities.

In 2004, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust UK (SWT UK) was established to protect and preserve African wildlife. Through relationship building and informed communications we raise funds to undertake direct conservation activities in Kenya, and to provide grants to SWT Kenya and other NGOs, to save wild lives and secure habitats.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As our Communications Officer, you will be responsible for managing the communications of the UK charity, inspiring and engaging both new and existing supporters. You will:

• Organise, create and schedule well-written, engaging content for a range of different audiences across various channels including email, print, and social media so that we communicate our news and story effectively.
• Maintain and develop the charity’s catalogue of marketing and communications assets, in line with charity brand guidelines, so that staff can easily access resources they need.
• Oversee, develop, and implement our communications plan, working closely with colleagues from SWT UK, and collaboratively with those from SWT Kenya, and SWT USA.
• Identify and explore opportunities to communicate conservation success stories so that we can engage new supporters in the charity.
• Write press releases, respond to media enquiries, and develop working relationships with relevant media contacts.
•  Handle administrative tasks, to include reporting on donor giving, campaign effectiveness, and digital analytics, so we can produce effective communications.
• Maintain the media library, and providing support to other team members.
• Occasional new projects and responsibilities in keeping with the role and remit.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Area Volunteer Manager (Area Branch Development Manager) to join our field operations team. Responsibilities of our Area Branch Development Manager:

As Area Volunteer Manager (Area Branch Development Manager) you will be accountable for the development, growth and local governance of branches within a designated area. Providing a solution-driven approach with the aim of helping more cats through the effective engagement of local volunteers. You will develop and deliver an area plan that captures the importance of volunteer engagement, recruitment, support, enabling and succession planning to ultimately achieve branch growth and sustainability. You will work collaboratively with other CP regional teams where appropriate, identifying where there are opportunities to achieve more by working together.

What we’re looking for in our Area Branch Development Manager:

• Proven experience of leading and managing volunteers
• Proven management experience including drafting operational plans
• Expereince of planning and implementing new processes and systems across a multi-site organisation
• Proficient IT skills, including all aspects of Microsoft Office relevant packages and knowledge of database management

Purpose of the Job:

This role is within our crisis alternative service – Safe Space - which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00pm(midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. The shift pattern for this role is 4:30-11:30pm. This will be on a rota basis across support workers.

Staff within the service will provide person-centred, practical and emotional support, face to face or via telephone on a one-to-one or group basis to individuals experiencing mental health crisis. This will consist of 1:1 support; de-escalating and providing interventions, signposting for specialised or longer-term support, and delivering collaborative self-management plans with clients to improve mental wellbeing. The aim of this service is to de-escalate and prevent further crises.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

About You:

With your proven experience of philanthropy fundraising, you’ll have personally secured 5 figure + gifts from a major donor. I am excited to be working with an amazing sustainability charity in search of 4 x Grants Programme Officers. This is an immediate start fully remote, full-time (will consider part-time) temp role until the end of September, with possible extension until March 2025! This is a West Midlands based hybrid or fully remote position.

As Grants Programmes Officer you will play a key role in the management of grant and delivery programmes managed by the organisation. You will have responsibility for a range of tasks across the project/grants management cycle, including assessment of funding applications, undertaking due diligence procedures, processing and managing claims, making payments, monitoring projects, analysing programme data, and liaising with project staff, grantees, and funders.

Main duties:

Assess capital grant funding applications using compliance checks, due diligence processes and assessment frameworks

Monitor the delivery of projects and grant spend by assessing progress reports, data returns and grant claims

Input into and use a range of management information systems to support the delivery of the programme

Act as a point of contact for external grant recipients and project delivery staff, providing advice and guidance on monitoring processes and compliance requirements

Process grant claims within the charity’s financial procedures

Produce accurate, high quality written reports for Decision Panels and Managers.

The post holder will lead on the Foundation’s research communications activities, working closely with the Comms and Digital Lead to execute a research communications strategy. This will ensure that our supporters are kept informed on the latest research developments and enable us to demonstrate the impact of our research.

The post-holder will also support the delivery of our annual grant schemes, as well as helping to manage our portfolio of funded projects. This will involve close working with our Research Programme Managers and include administering, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance of awards, ensuring the outputs are of the highest quality and supporting the charities activities.

The post-holder will have an important role to play in our busy and small-knit research team. They will be exposed to all aspects of grant management and use their communication skills to effectively share more information about the research we fund with our key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

Research Communications

• Work closely with the Communications and Digital Manager to oversee our research communications strategy and programme of activity;

• Lead on the development of all external research communications activities to communicate the impact of our research and ensure our supporters are kept up to date with the latest developments. This includes developing news stories, blogs, newsletter content, infographics, research webinar series and our annual research impact report;

• Liaise with our funded researchers to secure pictures and other content (e.g. video) for use on socials including making site visits to labs across the UK;

• Liaise with our communications team and PR agency to take advantage of any press opportunities that arise for our research communications, supporting the development of position statements and press releases.

Research Funding Administration

• Support the Research Programme Managers by ensuring our research grant rounds are effectively administered in line with Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) policy, including coordinating comprehensive internal and external peer review, supporting research review committees, drafting feedback for applicants, managing the contracting and financial monitoring of awards;

• Assist the Research Programme Managers in managing the research programme budget including planning, monitoring and forecasting;

• Support the ongoing development and implementation of our online grant management system, Flexi-Grant;

• Track and assess progress of funded awards, building and managing relationships with award holders and maintaining regular communication through the project life cycle;

• Assist the Research Programme Managers in preparing reports and correspondence for the Board of Trustees related to funded awards.

General Responsibilities

• Contribute to the team being proactive and supportive, and working effectively and efficiently to achieve agreed objectives;

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of strong internal relationships across the charity, working specifically with the Fundraising Team to support income generation;

• Represent the Foundation at external scientific meetings and conferences;

Skills and experience required:

• Educated to postgraduate level in a relevant biomedical science subject e.g. biology, molecular sciences, neuroscience, pharmacology;

• Experience of research communications, including the ability to disseminate complex scientific information and present it to non-technical audiences;

• A great communicator, with excellent written and oral skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders;

• Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time;

The Role:

You will lead in the coordination of the charity’s HR functions, particular with a focus on an employee’s life cycle. You will be responsible for coordinating a range of human resource functions including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and performance management and professional development.

The Senior HR Officer supports the Director of Finance and Operations in ensuring that the Human Resources Function is strategic, strategically aligned, and effective. The roles set the foundational processes in place to facilitate people decision making in a manner that enhances organisational impact.

Adelphi Court is a mental health, supported housing and community based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Our service is partially staffed between the hours of 09:00 and 21:30, with a mixture of shifts to cover service delivery. You will be required to work every second weekend.

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and well-being of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change.

Purpose and Overview

The PCREF Programme aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate racial disparities in the services provided by the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust. The programme's success will be monitored through the Trust’s Performance & Quality system, emphasising collaboration between the Trust's staff, Black service users, their carers, and Black communities. The goal is to ensure equitable access, experiences, and outcomes for Black citizens utilising the Trust's services.

The Programme Manager for the Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) in Lambeth and Southwark is crucial in advancing the objectives of the PCREF. This role focuses on fostering active community participation, building capacity, and ensuring that Black communities are equal partners in the transformational change programme. The Programme Manager will lead the development and support of local IAGs, ensuring robust governance, structure, and capacity building to improve mental health services.

Supporting the IAGs and the IAG chairs is fundamental to this role. It serves to enhance the capacity of the IAGs and chairs. Whilst the job description provides a succinct outline of responsibilities, ultimately the needs of the IAGs will be paramount, with direct leadership from the Director at Black Thrive. This role is in collaboration with various stakeholders, with a clearer focus on project mismanagement and varied learning styles. Leadership must be aligned with the IAGs, ensuring diverse and inclusive practices.

Supporting policy development is crucial, and there should be an agreement on oversight, with all parties having joint oversight and review responsibilities. Reporting back to the IAGs will be a key component.

The Programme Manager is expected to be a proactive and strategic leader, passionate about equity in mental health services and capable of driving meaningful change through collaboration with diverse community members and partners. Duties and Responsibilities

DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT

· Establish and Develop IAGs: Lead on supporting the creation and ongoing development of local IAGs in Lambeth and Southwark, ensuring robust governance structures and effective capacity building.

· Resource Management: support in Identifying and secure necessary resources, including financial, human, and material, to support IAG activities in both boroughs.

· Recruitment and Role Assignment: support in the recruit of diverse community members from Lambeth and Southwark to join IAGs, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned.

· General Management Duties: Temporarily oversee and manage day-to-day operations, supporting community service development initiatives and ensuring smooth running of IAG activities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT AND COLLABORATION

· Facilitate Community Engagement: Support both IAG chairs in enhancing community engagement through active participation in IAGs, collaborating with SLaM and various voluntary/community organisations.

· Encourage Broader Participation: Foster participation from various community, statutory, and non-statutory organisations in IAG and PCREF activities.

· Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, facilitating networking opportunities, and representing IAGs at PCREF events both online and in-person.
